No matter how we wish, he will manage until he dies. 5-7mil a year is huge offer to turn down
If he doesn't own it, and gets paid a salary HE IS AN EMPLOYEE. Just because you think he has some evil mind hold over the owners, board, trainers, team, fans, gunnersaurus and the tea lady is beside the point really. And if he is as responsible as you say why would the club 'beg him to stay'?? Makes no sense whatsoever.
Signing on for one year is pointless. The argument is so that they'd have time to get the structure in place but it's only March and pre-season doesn't start until July. They'd have three months to find a new manager and a director of football. People act like trying to find a new manager is like trying to find rocking horse ****.
And be resurrected on the third day...
Sh-t, there's a franchise waiting to happen.
If u can't think of anything to say, it's prob best not to say anything. rather than resorting to childish responses like 'dude, ru ok'
Don't care about what you think, dude. Give it a rest...
Prob best for you to get back to posting nonsense about vocal minority and such like
Wonder if he walks tomorrow giving the club two weeks to sort **** out.
If he decides to walk, i don't mind him leaving now. The players look really down on morale. It will be worse if this drags on.
How does that help? Chances are the managers they identify as potential replacements are at clubs still involved in major competitions and won't be allowed to leave their clubs until the season is over. However him making his intentions known would mean they could start actively pursuing candidates. It seems like Wenger's got everyone dancing to his tune at the minute.
He's not quitting or getting sacked, pointless discussion.
One more year feels like the worst thing we could do. Özil and Alexis would surely be sold and I doubt the players that you'd want to replace them with would be attracted to us because of the uncertainty/competitiveness.
Leaving at the end of his current contract would prove how much he loves the club.
I realise that had we played at full potential we might still have finished above Leicester but to be fair we did the double over Leicester, it was actually the laziness/arrogance of too many other teams who allowed Leicester to take points off them, because they thought they weren't good enough to beat them or that they would simply fall by the wayside.
You would assume Bold takes over in a caretaker role.
If he believes the players are not playing for him not sure how announcing his plans help in the short term.
Keep going back to the quote... If he was going to go the International break is the last opportunity really.
"You remind me of someone... a man I met in a half-remembered dream. He was possessed of some radical notions...
Don't you want to take a leap of faith? Or become an old man, filled with regret, waiting to die alone!"
We might have done it last season but we had the same old problem of players breaking down and Giroud had a bit of drought. Saw some stats about how many times he hit the bar. And of course we weren't gifted 11 penalty goals.
how can anyone be? wouldn't it be nice to Support Southhampton or something?
imagine, the excitement of the odd good run, some of their homegrown talents, midtable so you don't get crushed when you don't win and can feel joy about being midtable... and every win is cause for celebration
You would think we're Aston Villa reading some of these posts.
Replace mid table with fourth place (although not this year) and you have just described us!!
Can remember a fair few years like that with Arsenal in the 70's and 80's. 68 was when I got hooked, 1st live game 71 and we didn't win the title for 18 years.....or challenge either for that matter!
