Seems a shame this, but good luck to him. Think Betsy was a breath of fresh air this year.

Yeah, I felt this was on the cards. Betsy really acquitted himself very well and improved a number of players in his time here. I'd imagine that they'll promote Micciche but I feel he should stay with the u18s for now. Maybe Wilshere becomes a coach here, been talking about it!

If they give it to Micciche then I hope it's not just because he is the next guy in line. We want that elite culture running right through the club and their must be other talented, innovative, up & coming youth coaches who can add to the setup. I know that Micciche is rated as well so I guess we'll hear a bit more soon about the plan.

Hope they don’t give to Wilshere just because he’s been working at the academy. That sort of nepotistic outlook is why the academy was **** for years.

Recruitment should aim to get the best coaching minds in at that age group.

Betsy had to earn his credentials in U23, then got League to opportunity. Tets just walked in the door.

Ornstein: Arsenal hire ‘Tekkers Guru’, Jan 9 2023

Arsenal face an FA Cup third-round tie at League One side Oxford United tonight, as Mikel Arteta’s men attempt to continue their progress in a campaign that has seen them become Premier League front-runners.

Arteta is at the centre of a rebuilding job which, after a troubled period, appears to be turning the side into a competitive force once again — and the efforts to improve show little sign of abating.

On and off the pitch in recent years there has been a significant turnover of personnel at the north London club, and next season another new face will arrive in a bid to further strengthen the set-up.

Arsenal have appointed Hussein Isa to the role of attacking-phase coach, which will see him work with both the first team and leading academy talents transitioning towards Arteta’s senior squad.

Isa also goes by the name “Tekkers Guru”, which stems from the following he has amassed for exhibiting his skills and free kick ability online. He is expected to provide specialist assistance to Arsenal’s forward players, focusing on technical aspects such as their touch, shooting and heading.

The loss of Gabriel Jesus to a knee injury suffered playing for Brazil in the World Cup has left Eddie Nketiah as Arteta’s only recognised striker and raised questions about whether there are enough goals in the side to maintain a title challenge.

Arsenal drew 0-0 against Newcastle United last Tuesday, enabling second-place Manchester City to reduce their advantage in the table to five points when they beat Chelsea on Thursday. Next up in the top flight is a trip to arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur, currently fifth, next Sunday.

The likes of Nketiah, Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Martinelli will be leaned upon to find the net in that one, while Arsenal are hopeful of using the ongoing January transfer window to increase their attacking options.

It suggests efficiency in the final third is an area Arteta is keen to enhance and that may help explain the recruitment of Isa.

He is a 34-year-old former non-League attacking midfielder, who most recently had a spell turning out for Hashtag United and has represented England at futsal.

Isa spent time as a trainee at Tottenham and later used his one-to-one expertise at the Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace academies before going it alone. He even has experience of standing in for stars such as Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero on commercial shoots.

The plan is for Isa to start work in the summer, when Arsenal begin preparations for the 2023-24 season.
