Champions League Final: Liverpool v Tottenham

Interesting from Wenger, says Liverpool will need to improve their technical quality to dominate Europe, but in pursuit of that they could lose what they have now - the solidarity and team spirit which drives the current team.

You’re chasing an improvement which might negatively affect the positives you currently have.

Unbelievable how listening to Wenger gives you new ways of looking at football. He always comes out with absolute gems. Also gives a bit of a insight to his philosophy when it comes to team building, maybe also might be the reason why at times he was so reluctant to make wholesale changes during the transfer windows at times, didn't want to "rock the boat" too much.

On the flip side this might also have been one of the reasons we didn't retain the title.. Strengthening while you are on top is important so complacency doesn't set in and so the hunger is there in the squad.. We could have genuinely won the league from 2000-2004 straight, but something was missing. Too much change isn't good I think, but not changing enough might also lead to a decline, delicate balance to strike.

You guys owe us big time for our win last night :). From the sounds of things of Arsenal fans across the board, if Sp**s won, that would be the end of footballing life for you all so weve saved your enjoyment of football for the next 10 years!

On a side note, youre all despondent at the state of your club, but the funny thing is we took on the Arsenal model to rebuild ourselves.

We invested in young talent who we saw their value go up over time and reinvested the profits.

Your biggest error isnt that you have a self sustaining model and your owner hasnt invested his own cash, we have a self sustaining model too, the difference is management.

You let Ox run down his contract, you let Özil run down his contract, you let Sanchez run down his contract, you let wilshere fizzle out and run down his contract, you let Ramsey run down his contract. Thats about £150-200million of cash literally thrown down the drain.

When we sold the likes of Coutinho and Suarez we reinvested the money. If we let Coutinho run down his contract would we be where we are now without Alison and Van Dijk?

But also we sold Solanke for £20million, Jordan Ibe £15million, Sakho £25million, Danny ings £2omillion.

Youve let the players take power over the club because theres a vacuum at the director level and youve lost out on a lot of cash.
We owe you **** all, but thanks for beating Sp**s.

Wenger's opinion, which is fair enough. But what he's saying is hardly even interesting. If you change a winning team, you may not improve. Nothing is guaranteed....etc. Wow. Typical over analysis from him really. It what many close to him said he was guilty of towards the end.

Missed the game on holiday and couldn’t be arsed to even watch the highlights after reading that the game was a non event. More interesting reading Wenger’s comments.

Anyway Sp**s still won nothing, Liverpool splash the cash and finally get a £700m + squad through clever business and finally win something. Nothing changes.

He can be actually incredibly boring tbh. And in this instant wrong too. Couldn't do anything in Europe with a team like that or even retain a title when there was only one real rival back then.

Watched Mou and Wenger's union. Pretty bland and boring. Clear to see they're both probably past it and can't find a way to reinvent themselves.

We should have won the league in 1999 too.
