I don't see him displacing Szczesny.

David Ospina is exactly the type of signing we needed after Fabianski's departure and I'm very happy with Wenger's pick. However there's a huge difference between being the first choice at an elite club like Arsenal and being the first choice at a mediocre club like Nice. The expectations, the pressure, the matches and the attacking players are on another level in Premier League.

Arsène Wenger had hoped for the ‘keeper to be available for their friendly against New York Red Bulls on Friday but Ospina will complete his medical and join the squad when they are back in England.

Likely the club and player decided there wasn't much to gain by interrupting his holiday after the world cup for the medical. Slight error in that Indy article btw, the match with NY Bulls is on Saturday.
