He's just returned from a groin problem, and Fulham are fighting relegation, no surprises here that Berbatov is being wrapped in cotton wool.

Though Wenger didn't flat out deny wanting him, just said he hadn't considered it, which leaves the door open.

I just saw on sky that Dempsey is back at Fulham i wonder if that is paving the way for Berbatov to move.

Nah, they needed reinforcements. Dempsey's only back there on loan. It has no significance IMO.

The Fulham manager spoke about 'protectng' players ahead of this game, and it's all the rage now for relegation battlers to leave out their best players for Cup games, especially if they're as old as Berbatov.
