It was already tried in the beginning of the season, and worked just like planned against City. Partey has to get match fit & sharp first though.

It's not a matter of strength of opposition, rather how the game plays out. Nobody will doubt Liverpool are the better side compared to Porto, but we dominated Liverpool at home more than Porto in either leg. Although, to be frank, as great as a pressing side Liverpool are, I do not rate their midfielders individually at all, and please remember who among them started against us. Varela-Gonzalez-Pepe vs Gravenberch-Jones-Mac Allister? Hardly anything between these two midfields, and Varela and Gonzalez are more mature in their play than Jones.

Agree, it's a chance to give Partey a start and probably give Saka time on the bench. Should be an easy win even with some changes

He has been an great squad player this season, bar the mistake at the Emirates vs. Sp*rs. And has certainly added an extra dimension to our game in 2024 with TP's absence.

I was wondering wondering how people see him in terms of squad player value when comparing to others through the years. I would say that he is at a value level of a late Ray Parlour and prime Edu?

To be fair, xhaka has taken leverkusen to win the bundesliga .

Jorg being better much better than most here expected. Was always a elite deal imo.
