is that 5 today? still a few hours left (UK time) to add to the tally.

There will be more darts thrown tomorrow, expect a few more desperate, insulting bids made for 2nd and 3rd tier targets.

I'd much rather have him than overpay for someone like Yilmaz. Sigthorsson at least has potential and if he doesn't make it here, he'll have some re-sale value as well. There aren't any world class players available in this window anymore anyway so we might as well try to buy some young talent and hope for his immediate breakthrough. This guy has potential to be a good PL striker. I don't think we would have to pay too much for him either. This season is pretty much done in terms of trophies so we should concentrate on our own trophy, top 4, and buy some new exciting talents that we can sell to our competitors in the future

I actually rate him, but he is the Scandinavian Diaby in terms of injury proneness.

Please apply to be our Dutch scout Wouterus, these "professionals" don't have a single clue

I would love to, but before I apply Arsenal will have to change the socialist wage structure among scouts first. I won't settle for the same salary as Gilles ****ing Grimandi!

How good is he currently? How good can he be?

The words "bang average" come to mind

Like seriously i'm amazed this rumours even being discussed it's that ridiculous, it's up there with the Marica thread

He's not a bad player, he'll score goals sure (although in a tougher league than the Eredivisie i'm not so sure), but honestly watch Ajax for 5 minutes and you'll see he'd be more at home at somewhere like West Ham or around that level

I wouldn't say he is bang average, he is much more than a goalscorer. He is a rather complete striker, without clear weaknesses. He is physically strong, can finish with both feet, good link up play, quite mobile, not extremely fast but he has decent pace.

Mind you, I don't want us to sign him this transfer window. He has to prove that he can stay fit and perform for a whole season.

Arsenal Quotes

Robert Pirès was a fabulous player, world-class, and for a few years, before his injury, he was unquestionably the best left-midfielder in the world by far. He had incredible technique, he was smart, a finisher. He was a killer with a smile, the gentlest man in the world who suddenly drive the ball exactly where it was needed.
