Arteta is spoken of very highly by people in the know, not just as an assistant manager but as a future manager. There are no guarantees, but he seems to have the talent and drive to take the club forward.

Howe has proved himself at Bournemouth, but he didn't do well at Burnley, who are a bigger club. And if he struggled there, I wouldn't want us to risk appointing him.

Bournemouth’s in the same place they were three seasons ago though. Howe’s a good midtable manager, nothing more. He is not as good looking as Arteta either

I think he means high regard across the league, not just at Arsenal.

Fair enough. I know Arteta is highly spoken of because of his tactical skills as a player, but the same were players like Martin Keown, Sol Campbell, Patrick Vieira, Thierry Henry, Roy Keane, Ole Solskjaer, Jaap Stam, Steve McManaman etc. And there are many examples of assistants who failed as managers, Steve McClaren is a prime example of that.

Well, that's certainly one way to look at it. And if Arsenal could bring the wad of cash along, that would be great. But in this case, they're referring to a guy who finds talent for them (i.e., the guy who finds the guys they throw the cash at).

We could get Pep and it wouldn't make a difference, Kroenke's got to go.

Haven't we heard of this **** before re Mislintat and that Leicester guy. Hell we had the best talent spotter and developer in the business in Wenger and it made no difference.

Howe would def not be my first choice, but i think we can say he would be a safer option than what Arteta is. I think Bournemoth has reached their maximum level and they can not go any further on the table, but i certainly think Howe could win trophies if he was in a club with more resources. And why in the hell does the manager`s look matter?
