I'm just hoping the club is doing everything it can to seduce Allegri. All these mid table managers or apprentices we are being linked with most likely won't be able to handle the sheer weight of this job.

He is regarded in Spain as a much better manager than Emery.

Emery was poor in Europe with Valencia and had an atrocious away record with Sevilla.

Marcelino took Villarreal from the 2nd division to a fourth-place finish in La Liga. He also finished 4th twice with a Valencia side which had finished 12th in the two seasons before he joined.

If we are forced to make a mid-season appointment, it has to be him. But I think we should stick with Freddie for now and go for Rose, Nagelsmann, Marsch or Ten Hag in the summer.
