In the mist of my Bender, a name popped up,

Jurgen Klopps former assistant

Sign him up

Zeljko Buvac? He's Dinamo Moscow's DoF since last year. Would have been a neat addition to Wenger's coaching staff back in 2018 if Arsène had stayed.

A very interesting current assistant who seems to be rated by a lot of people in the game and on the verge of becoming a manager is Zsolt Löw from the Red Bull franchise. Was assistant to Peter Zeidler, Adi Hütter, Ralf Rangnick, Ralph Hasenhüttl and is now Tuchel's sidekick since PSG.

No more newbies/coneboys. We need first team manager experience.

Not advocating Löw. I just know he's highly rated in the game and consistently linked with jobs in Germany but as of now has remained in Tuchel's staff. Imo rookies should ideally start out in at best no pressure jobs in 2. Bundesliga, Championship, smaller leagues like Belgium, Austria or smaller top flight clubs.

Also, Arteta is no comparison to Zsolt Löw. Löw's been working as an assistant for almost a decade, when Arteta took over at Arsenal he had just done 2 or 3 years. Big difference.

Not convinced by Graham Potter tbh. Done well enough with Brighton but plenty of managers that never make it in big clubs.
But he’s a manager with actual experience of the job. Imagine that? Right now, the mess we’re in I’d take any of those bozos that people on here said they’d replace Arsène with, including Owen Coyle.

Graham Potter looks a decent manager and we’re no longer a big club. We’re mid table and pretty much broke.

By all means, he might do a better job than Arteta. But if they are going to replace him I hope the club aim higher. Can't afford anymore mistakes, although I suppose that could be said about keeping Arteta as well. **** situation to be in.

I disagree. I don't want any manager. That's what we had with Emery and look how that ended. I want a manager who will not see Arsenal in its current state as a step up. I want a manager. to whom anything but top four is an abject failure. I want a manager who will stake his reputation on Arsenal.

Not saying Potter would be my no 1 target/wish if Arteta got sacked, which he won't anyway, but it's a little bit funny tons of people on here were lusting for Arteta post Wenger and post Emery, a complete rookie with a mere three years as an assistant hyped up by word of mouth and the media, but would turn up their noses at Graham Potter as "not experienced/proven" enough despite having managed since 2011 at three different clubs and having shown a very clear identity and modus operandi during that decade.

Its a good call.

His profile is very impressive, now that I have taken a closer look at it and read yours and other opinion on him around these parts.

The lessons learnt from Emery and Arteta must be applied before bringing him in however. Provide him with a focused coaching role, and then surround him with specialists in every other area at the club. I suspect this type of structure would be where we end up, if the non negotiable, big talking, big spending project doesnt deliver on its promises.

Should be a given at any professional club, anyway

I don't get the overall reluctance to give young, impressive English managers bigger jobs. It's like public opinion over there is as a Brit not called Alex Ferguson your managerial limit are the likes of Everton, West Ham, Sp**s, Leicester. You never give a shot to these impressive young managers they'll eventually actually hit a limit in their development. Nagelsmann hasn't won a single trophy and jury's still out to some degree if he made Leipzig overperform or if this season was a big, big bottlejob by him/them. Still he got the Bayern job. Tuchel is one of the best managers around and with his more than 2,0 points per game at BVB, PSG and Chelsea in a very, very exclusive group of managers, yet if the sort of snobbish attitude Potter, Parker etc. face (on here), he'd have never even gotten the Dortmund job, cause 5 very good years at Mainz wouldn't have been good enough.

Again, not saying Potter'd be my favourite to replace Arteta, but there are a ton of worse options, and if it was between him and Arteta/someone like Arteta I'd definitely know who I'd choose.

I'm at the anyone but Arteta stage but top picks are Bielsa or Conte. Both would at least bring some joy and each of their systems would suit most of our squad in different ways. Conte is the one Chelsea reject I'd take.

I like Conte but I think our budget would be a big problem for him. His man management also leaves a lot to be desired and I complain about Arteta but he's more volatile.

It would end in tears but if he came I would happily back him. If I could vote again, I'd vote Rodgers over Allegri.

Arsenal Quotes

Don’t be scared to be ambitious. It’s not a humiliation to have a high target and to fail. For me, the real humiliation is to have a target and not to give everything to reach it.
