Too simplistic a way of looking at it IMO. There’s nothing wrong with Xhakas first touch, and he’s hit some beautiful first time passes too. Any DLP or no.10 will struggle with static movement.

It’s not that his first touch is bad, it’s that it doesn’t set him up for an immediate forward pass. He often has to adjust his body in a separate movement.

Being able to control the ball and turn or open your body in one movement is one of the hardest things to do in football, but it’s also the difference between have 3 options to pass to and having 6.

You were definitely here when Cesc and Santi played midfield for us so I know you understand what I mean :)
