This is gonna be a tough one. Read somewhere that Watford have won a lot of possession in the final third with their pressing, which seems to be a problem with us right now. That moron Deeney would be up Xhaka's ass all game. Kabesele being suspended for them is good though.

Very nervous about this one. Glad we're at home. As @Özil'sCloakOfInvisibility mentioned their press is deadly. We're one cech pass away from conceding in this one.

 

Is he that good? Can you elaborate this point a little bit please, I never thought of him as that important, maybe I didn't notice.

Don't know how ready Sokratis and Kola are, but Monreal definitely needs to be treated with care. And we need Sead's physicality for this.

Guendouzi and Torreira are the most press-resistant midfielders we have, if Xhaka is needed for chance creation he can come on after the break.

Welbeck has been amazing and has great workrate, again Auba can come after the break if we need a pacey forward.

This is rubbish. Mobility and ability to carry the ball does not equal press resistance. Xhaka’s passes through the lines are way more efficient to avoid the press

I like Guendouzi, but his passing is not yet good enough to build up play from the back

 

Now I can agree with it entirely

 

A routine 2-0 3-1 win as much as they been on form this year but at home against these teams we are too good.

He's started every single game for them and to me he's looked impressive every time I've seen him. He's a big physical presence and assured on the ball. He was unfortunate to see red last night and I think Watford will appeal it. They will probably bring in Mariappa in his place if it's turned down, who's not as commanding tbh.

Janmaat is out with a knee injury

 

It always seemed to me like Cathcart was more important, but I'm not a specialist regarding their team. Still, Mariappa was decent last season, let's see if he can do a job - hopefully not! Janmaat is a big blow though.

 

Think that we'll win this one.Watford played some good stuff since the start of the season,but their defence look kinda poor.They let too much space in final third.3-1 for Arsenal.

If Watford (looking at you Deeney) think they can bully this team they’re in for a surprise. We’re way past this stigma of soft Arsenal with the likes of Sokratis, Xhaka, Torreira, Laca Auba. They’ll probably try to target Özil but he’s been shifted to the wings and is not influencing the game as he used to.

We’ll find it tough at the beginning because of their pressing game but they’ll eventually ran out of steam and we’ll give them a proper trashing.
