Thought there was some official statement that made this certain.

Was positively surprised yet was confused why would we have a statement for that.

Now I see it's speculative drivel.

Get him in. He has to be better than that bald fraud Holding.
Except . . . this is exactly why you have a Holding, and send Walters on loan.

Young fullbacks need to play. I have no doubt that Walters is at least as good as Holding right now, and has vastly higher potential. But sitting on the bench and getting Holding minutes (late game defensive cameos or thrown to the wolves in an injury crisis) is not going to help his long term development.

He should be playing in the Carabao Cup at a minimum.

I'd be totally on board with play the Carabao Cup, train with the first team, and go out on loan in January. But he's 19. He needs to play every week. So while he's probably better than Holding now, and definitely will be better than Holding in the future, giving him Holding's role now is detrimental to his long term development.

Right decision for him, but yeah im not gonna attack Arteta because I wouldn't confidently chuck him in to a title race this tight myself.

With Arteta at the club. There is no point of the academy tbh. Not even gonna make money from it as both walters and cozier will leave for free. Skelly and most likely nwaneri will end up leaving for free. Yeah we will get small compensation for training them. But I bet there is huge frustration from the people running the academy towards Arteta and lack of any route for youngsters

He will never get a proper chance as long as Arteta is at Arsenal so this is the best decision for him. Nwaneri should leave aswell if he actually care about his career.

Yeah he already made 2 appearances at the age of 15 and 16. He should be livid with Mikel.

Title race? There was plenty of opportunity earlier in the season to play him, test him, ease him in.

The combo of him maybe not being up to par and Arteta not willing to play youth... The writing was on the wall.

We've lost more promising players in the past, Zelalem would become the new Cesc. JET was amazing too.

Not too bothered by this.

I don't want the will to educate to be opposed by the will to win. That makes the educator sound like an idiot.
Any manager's approach must be to educate. One of the beauties of our job is the power to influence the course of a man's life in a positive way.
You and me have been lucky enough to meet people who believed in us and led us forward.
The streets are full of talented people but who didn't have the luck of finding someone who placed faith in them. I can be the one that facilitates life, that gives an opportunity
