He was awful on the rare occasion he featured for Atletico. Was an okayish ball playing defender at Ajax, hasn't convinced at the top, top level though. Verdict;

He's ****, worse than Vermaelen.

Precisely why its likely I think. A player like Verm is good enough to be playing regularly, which is why he left.

Whoever comes in as CB is likley going to be third choice, tops. Maybe fourth. Its probably going to be someone who is content to play that role.

I think he's less prone to erratic judgement calls than Vermalen. Don't think he's better than Chambers though.

Wow a bit over the top imo, most Atletico fans would rather he stayed. Sure his first season in a new league wasn't great but that was because he was mainly played at reserve right back, when he played centrally he looked promising.

There a lot of other options who would be a hell of a lot worse, we aren't getting Nastasic or a top quality CB as 3rd/4th choice, you're all living in a fantasy world.

What kind of CB are people expecting exactly? When you're looking for a 3rd/4th choice player your options are going to be limited. Most starters and prime players aren't going to consider sitting on the bench even if it's at a big side.

The funny part is I bet people would prefer some unheard of "potential" kid, than a decent defender who is more than good enough to be 4th choice at Arsenal.

Yeah hilarious that Caz.

This lad is average, seen him play enough to know that. If we bring him in as a Vermaelen replacement it'll be another downgrade.

This summer is turning to **** as things stand.

Our backup CB options last season were Vermaelen who couldn't keep fit and Bac who was our starting RB. With Chambers already looking like a good 3rd choice it shouldn't be too hard to improve our backup players.

Sagna was actually quality when he filled in as a CB though.

I agree, it's inconvenient to have your starting RB as backup CB as well though. Especially when Verm was unfit and out of form.

Wouldnt mind him here at all. We have more pressing issues than fourth choice CB, and the sooner we get this sorted the sooner we can resolve rest of our problems.

Arsenal Quotes

Ian Wright was the incredible striker for whom those around him sometimes found hard to control especially the opponents. He was an extrovert, hyperactive, and had endured an extremely hard life. His playing style was instinctive, and he had that killer instinct, a player like no other.
