we need to buy another class primary striker

Why don't we just buy another class primary forward with the Real money.

I reckon it should be 'class out class in'.

We do need another primary goal getter to go along with Thierry and Jose.

RVP is cover for either Pires or Bergkamp, Ali is just too fragile sorry to say so be he just is.

So if one the strikers breaks down we would have a class replacement.

We need a young player with the attributes of henry and reyes, so why don't i cut to the chase say let's bid for Fernando Torres of Atletico Madrid. :D

Torres is big strong fast and talented and scores bags of goals, he would cost around 18 million so we should put in an initial bid of around 14 million.

We'll have the money to buy him and he'll definitely want to join up alongside Thierry, Reyes and Cesc, Arsenal would then be super dangerous prospect we would destory lesser teams.

We should also have enough for another cm if required.

what are your thoughts.

I would rather see Wenger concentrate the Vieira money on a replacement central midfielder. Ideally Xabi Alonso. I would be pissed if Liverpool got him first.

A striker is also a priority, but a lesser one. We have till midnight August 31st.

Arsène knows

Unless Wenger is gonna play with 3 men upfront I somehow doubt he is gonna spend that much player to play upfront and score goals like you said

Athletico madrid have turned down 30mill euros for Torres so why do you think they will accept 26mill euros?

We have more than enough strikers to cover us this year, not enough experience but we will have to get on with it. If anything another defender is needed or a CM if Vieira leaves.

We have 4 fully fit strikers - Henry, Bergkamp, Reyes and VanPersie
plus
arturo Lupoli and Ali (back in 3 mths)
plus
Ljungberg
plus
Quincy

Why do we need to buy if they are just going to sit on the bench :?:

Aliadiere has never prooved to be good enough to be in first team. When did he scored in Premier League when he got his chance?
And about Lupoli you must be kidding - we have never seen him in action. He can be Italian version of Glenn Helder or Kaba Diawara

He did on reyes 17million and if we had more money to spend in general i believe he would try and acquire a few more expensive players.

Sometimes you need to spend more to maintain your superiority, granted we are not chelsea but we should't be too coy about purchasing a highly rated player if we can.

It would prove to the other players that we are deadly keen on success.

Besides i think 14 to18 million on Torres would be excellent value he is easily in the Reyes Henry bracket. Better value than 25 million on Drogba. :)

I disagree. We have 3 top-quality strikers, with enough others (RVP, Freddie) to act as stopgaps when needed. That should be enough to get us through the season, especially as Aliadiere will be back eventually. If Morientes was to be tacked onto a Viera deal I'd have taken him, but he's cup-tied in the CL now after Real's qualifier yesterday.

Even if we WERE to get someone Torres is an absurd suggestion, IMO. At most Wenger will get a cheap experienced veteran to help out in the CL. Otherwise can you imagine next season - Henry, Reyes, RVP, Bentley AND Torres all battling for 2 spots? It would be a senseless waste of money. Spend it where it's needed most.

If any big-money signings are made it will be to replace Paddy.

reyes and wiltord...

Did he buy Reyes and Wiltord after already spending big for the same position just 8 months earlier?

He JUST BOUGHT a 20m 20-year-old spanish striker! You think he's gonna buy another one 8 months later? He's not Chelsea, he's not stupid.

Ali really didn't get that much of a chance, he never played regular football and that hurt his education.
Lupoli - well he did break the record in Italy and that certainly counts; btw I dun think we will get to that point.

Anyway, unless we get an MAJOR injury crisis, we should be alright. Chelsea, I think have only 4 top class forward - Drogba, Mutu, Kezman and Gudjohonsen - and we have the same except Robin is still 'raw' - so dun worry, we're covered here n pretty much everywhere else.

I WANT ROONEY!!!!!!!!!!
We dont need any other strikers, we have a good enough squad now for this season. Next season we will need to invest in another striker when Bergkamp hangs up his boots.

Bergkamp
Henry
RvP
Reyes
Alli
Pires/Lyungberg (maybe fill in)
Bentley (On load)
Quicy (I dont think he has been tested yet!)

Surely if Vieira does go then we'd need someone to replace him? I'm with Gator - try to hijack the Alonso deal and get him before he signs for Pool.

Torres - unless Arsène's plans for Reyes change and he doesn't play as striker, there'd be no point in signing him. He deserves more than being a rotation player (as does Reyes)...

I think we're okay upfront for the moment. We could use another striker, but we won't get a big name player.

Henry and Reyes are primary strikers we need a third given the vast volume of games and possible injury crisises.

RVP plays LM or just behind the strikers he isnt a prolific out and out striker he's a cross between Pires and Bergkamp.

Ljungberg isnt a striker sorry to say so but he is a right midfielder always was and always will be. You don't solve a puzzle by placing a cube and a circular slot.

A striker is a specialist position and usually requires a player with more talent the the rest.

Quincy well if he was any good would be pushing Ali for the first team.

Arturo Lupoli is on ascholarship he isnt ready for the premiership if he's any good then he'll make it but in a couple of years time a least.

It's never a bad thing to have lots of options in the striking department besides it keeps everyone on their toes.

A striker is not a priority. If Vieira goes, the money would be better spent on his replacement.

Rooney probably has his heart set on United but I feel Torres would fit our bill quite nicely.
He is quailty.
Striker is a priority because goals win matches and we have 2 god foribid if the both breakdown then we'll be stumped for proper attacking options.
