These are just assumptions.

As we've been told in relation to Arteta and Saka, ESR etc young players progress naturally. Their development has nothing to do with the manager

Saliba's playing more than regularly at Nice so game time can't be the issue currently either.

Lol Fofana would have had the Saliba treatment.
Soyuncu would be getting slated here after his mistakes, he’d probably make more cause of the way we are.

I’m legit surprised people can’t see this?
If you manage the players well it isn't a problem.

As Wenger said you may throw a 21-22 year old in there and he will cost you some points a season. But maybe the upside in the long term is better.

You cannot say giving Mustafi minutes in the EL was worth anything when Saliba could have got them minutes.

Also another point is that Mikel says the players have to learn his methods and style and that takes time. When Saliba comes back he will have to go through that process. That's longer again in his development. Could have played him in 10-12 games and had him in around the squad learning "the process" meaning he was ready at the start of next season to make an impact. Not in another few years.

Saliba is and always has been the higher rated prospect than Fofana, I don't think there's any denying that. Fofana wasn't even bought last summer to play this amount of games. The major difference here is that when Soyuncu went down early in the season Rodgers had the faith in Fofana to step in and do a job and more importantly stuck by him even when Soyuncu got fit again.

Swap Saliba and Fofana around and we'd be sat here thinking look how quality that Saliba lad at Leicester looks, how did we miss out on him? Whilst Fofana would be out on loan at Nice or whoever.

Fofana was bought to be a squad player, gain his experience with the first team, play Cup games and learn the culture and language. Also to be coached and worked with by Rodgers and his staff. He did get an opportunist chance but he was bought with the belief that he was ready to play some part in Leicesters season.

He was never bought with the idea that he would need 2 loans just to get to the level to play 10 games a season.

Also having looked at Fofana this season he's incredible fast, agile and can play centre back or right of a 3 at the back. I dare say he could probably cover right back if he needed too.

Saliba seems a lot more rigid. Hopefully we can see him next season but who knows with Arteta. This club needs to start going down the young players route.

This signings 30 year old has beens with no upside trying to somehow get immediate success with them is stupid.

Saliba would be in the exact same situation Fofana is in now had it been he that Leicester had signed. Despite what Fofana has done this season, I'm still confident that Saliba is the better player right now but it's a pointless comparison really.

Some managers prefer experience and from what we've seen so far Arteta falls into that category. At every club Rodgers has been at, be it Swansea or Celtic, he's had a history of playing and developing younger players.

The club is and has been going down the young player route. Both Gabriels, Saliba, Tierney, Guendouzi, Torreira, Ceballos when he showed up, Ødegaard - aren't exactly old codgers are they, that's literally the bulk of our transfer strategy.

Saliba has always been rated higher than Fofana and although Ligue 1 leaves a lot of questions unanswered, I feel those ratings are justified.

You'd definitely be one of those half glass empty guys lamenting Fofana if he was here getting dicked around instead.

The club may have. But is Arteta? Willian, Mari, Soares signing Ceballos on another loan. A contract for Luiz a big contract for Auba(who I wanted signed up don't see much wrong with that).

Doesn't sound like Artetas idea is to put a lot of trust in young players.

It's nothing glass half empty. It's watching a team like Leicester operate in one way and us operate in another way and saying that seems a much better way than what we are doing.

Leicester have a model we should be looking at. Signing young players who can do half a job now but in 2 years be top. Keep them at the club work with them put your stamp on them and progress them.

The old man we sign are either outliers or replacing another old player- rather than the norm.

lol and nah you complain about everything bro I seen't it. It's ok I just think complaining about signing Saliba over Fofana is laughable. Or not signing Soyuncu. The problems at the club are bigger than whoever we sign.

Fofana would’ve had the same treatment here under Arteta,

If it was Saliba at Leicester you’d then be complaining how we missed him.

This is on Arteta, you can’t make judgments on someone that was cast aside for no valid reason.
Leicester are a bloody well-run club, from top to bottom. Really likable as well. Even after losing Kante, Drinkwater, Mahrez, etc, and others from the title-winning team, they've found excellent replacements on the cheap that would have made Wenger proud.

Sold Chilwell and already the lad Thomas at LB is looking a great prospect.

Better than thinking everything is rosey in the garden and deluding yourself that we are brilliant at everything we do and everyone else is just luckier. We spent 30m on a centre half that we haven't been able to use for 2 years and who knows what the future holds for him.

For a club that has limited budgets and ****e older players it deserves criticism.

There's more to being a well run club than making good signings btw

Leicester do the business on the pitch, that's why everything looks rosey. They have their dead signings and struggles too.
Easy to forget they where mid table under Puel. They've got great scouting no doubt but it's Rodgers coaching that has got them up the table again.

Yeah but when you sign Mahrez for 500k and sell for 60m and signing Maguire for 20m and selling for 80m you can afford a few duds like Slimani.

They get a hell of a lot more right than wrong. You don't see Leciester signing too many 30 year old squad players who have 0 upside.

They had a couple of crap managers before Rodgers and singings like Perez are yet to convince, Kelechi only started hitting recently, he was almost released. People exaggerate their greatness a bit imo.
