Arsenal have been linked with Dortmund front man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and are reportedly lining up a £30 million bid for the player. The Express reports that Arsenal have already had a bid of £28.7 million rejected for the player but are now looking to re enter negotiations with an improved offer.

The Bundesliga club are reportedly looking for no less £31 million. This at the moment is all speculation of course, but could Aubameyang be the striker Arsenal need? His goal scoring record suggest he could do a job for the club to be fair. He scored a career high 26 goals last season, and 41 total in 95 appearances for the club.

He joined Dortmund in 2013 after bagging an impressive 35 goals in 73 appearances for Saint-Etienne in France over two seasons. Arsenal were reportedly after him then as well, as were a whole host of top European clubs. If reports are to be believed, Wenger could now go back in for the 26 year old, and for me he could do a job at Arsenal.

He is not the first choice striker most would hope to join Arsenal (would still much rather Benzema), but his ability in front of goal is undeniable. He produces the goods in all competitions as well, even bagging a goal against our lads in the Champions League two seasons ago.

He is lightning quick, intelligent, strong, can finish with both feet and with his head. There really isn’t much he can’t do as a forward, and would represent a splendid bit of business by Wenger.

He offers something different to Giroud with his pace and movement and willingness to run in behind the back line, and would offer Wenger another option going forward.

Still, his skill set is close to that of both Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck, both of whom like Aubameyang can play on the wing as well as centre forward, so we will have to wait and see just how valid these reports are.

What do you think gooners? Could Aubameyang the man to lead Arsenal to a title challenge?

I certainly prefer Pierre- Emerick to Benzema … Benzema can sometimes go absent on the field like Giroud ! Please Mr Wenger sign him soon !

I can see Aubameyang as a backup for Sanchez, Giroud, Welback and Walcott as the season is too long. Prefer to reinforce the Central and/or Left back defensive position as Per is aging and Gibbs is not good enough yet until he learns to play football with his right foot.
Contrarily to a general thinking, I think the defensive midfielder position is well covered by Le Coq, Rambo and Wilshire/Carsola. In these 4 players the defense and attack are well balance. They are the present and future of Arsenal.

i think Wenger shuld sign him rather than Benzemer coz with benzemer its like having 2 Girouds they have got no goal eye. or else he can test palace for Bolacie also he can do a good job.
