It's astonishing that for such an intelligent man he didn't foresee the scenario where all the best players leave because they would earn more at a non-socialist club (every other club) and all the duds stay and see out their contract because they would earn less at a non-socialist club (every other club).
Was this not pretty obvious?
It doesn't seem to matter much whether Wenger's ideas and views of the world are that of success or not. He is oblivious to logic or reason behind his ideas and whether they are applicable in the real world.

We've got £200m in the bank you tight prick. We can afford to pay Sanchez whatever he wants.

Trying to import a socialist wage structure into football is so mind-bogglingly stupid.

Our fans pay the highest ticket prices in world football (sport?!). They pay that money so we can attract and retain the best players, not watch spacks like Gabriel struggle to take a throw-in.
Someone should have followed up asking how much he gets paid.

It was forced, somebody clearly had a word with the players about going over to the fans after last week.

Probably each got £50k for doing so.

Lots of our players give the ball away. Not many can score or assist as often as he does though. We should focus more on not letting teams run from their own 18 yard line all the way to our box unchallenged! Yer da defending.

Maybe I'm being blinded by my (dwindling) respect for Arséne, but I hope this socialist wage structure crap is all fart, no poo. It's just far too stupid.

I take it as a good sign still at the bargaining table with the agent usual games through the press , hopefully it get's done soon .

I'm not sure why he'd want to goto City if he wants to be successful. Since he signed for us we've won two FA cups and got to the last 16 every season, City have won one league cup in that same period.

Edit
Sorry we've won one FA cup. None the less over the whole we've out performed City in the league. 3Rd and 2nd City finished 2nd and 4th. This season still isn't over yet either.

City are a better prospect than us in almost every way. The board demand success and are willing the back their manager in any way to make that happen.

They invest in every aspect of the club to maximise what is achieved. City will be a different animal next season where we will be the same as always.

If I had no affinity for either club then city are the no brainier.

City probably don't quibble about money and certainly don't keep players around for almost 10 years that don't significantly contribute something tangible on a regular basis.

The real problem with City for Sanchez should be that Pep didn't rate him as that important at Barcelona.

I don't think it would be correct to say though that he has no affinity for us - I suspect he's a bit torn as to what to do, and if we did win the cup and make top 4, and offered him big wages, he would sign on for a few more years - not that that would stop him leaving later, of course, but then we would get more for him

What is all this love for Man City? Apart from the whole "financed by undemocratic, human rights-denying regime," it's not as if they've made such great footballing decisions at all times. If they had, then they wouldn't still be playing Clichy and Sagna as full backs. They've recruited plenty of crap, wasting money in a way which most clubs simply can't do.

City have potential, but I think he could do better. He could play for Juve or Atletico (if they had the money for him). Probably Bayern too. 3 clubs that reach the elite stage in Europe.

I suppose you just ignore the name of our stadium and the sponsor across the front that financed that Alexis deal? Double think much.

They are a better prospect that has preformed worse than us on every level since Alexis signed for us. They may demand success but success has not came their way since Alexis has been here.

Arsenal Quotes

In a football match anything can happen, the players, 90 minutes, fantastic moves, an element of luck, talent, courage, and touch of magic and, for those who are watching these men play, the search for excitement, for a memory, for a lesson in life.
