Arsène Wenger: My Life and Lessons In Red & White

I feel like staunch Wenger loyalists are upset that he hasn’t come out and slagged people off or blamed people for his failures in his book tbh.

If you knew the man’s story, or his background you would see why he could never do that really.

Doesn’t matter if he failed to acknowledge his **** ups in the book, they were as clear then as still are now. Being a fan at the endless just excruciating. Still a legend though. Won’t be buying the book, sounds like a massive anticlimax.
Don’t buy the book and put more money in his pockets.

Couple of weeks ago, Merson said Harry Redknapp was as good, maybe he’s right? Imagine Harry here with Joey Cole pulling the strings?

Glad his book isn't him just slagging off people, would be unfitting for a man who had such dignity during his career...that kind of stuff is more suited to a gimp like Ferguson tbh.

He’s so hurt by the exit he can’t bring himself to enter the stadium that he built just yet.

This is part of his healing, to cut ties with the club completely so he can get used to life without Arsenal. A divorce if you will - this is all confirmed by him btw. He will visit one day.

I don’t know who sh*t in your cereal but you’ve been crying all evening. Ofcourse he’s a legend.

Men like Wenger with values he holds dear and his unwavering commitment to them, are very easy to criticise. We should never get it confused though I am so proud he is synonymous with our club.

Or he’s just being a big baby. The guy was pushing 70 before he left. How much longer was he expecting in the job? I mean he’s already come out and said that he probably stayed bit longer than he should have.

Look I admire Wenger for everything he achieved for the club. But I lost a lot of respect for him towards the end because it became obvious that his loyalty lay with job(where he knew he was virtually untouchable) and his players, both to the detriment of club moving forward and the fans.

Remember when Jose Mourinho called him a specialist in failure and AM loved it? Someone telling what he really is.

You guys were right then too.

Niko Kranjar and Herman Heridasson at The Arsenal...things you wish you got to see in life

Ferguson was winning trophies non stop, Wenger couldn’t dream of that.

Wenger even let Chelsea become the first London club to win the CL.

Mission Accomplished
Seems like the Özil omission triggered it... FFS, it was obvious @GDeep™ You had weeks to prepare!

When Arsène decides to go back to the Emirates, he’ll get the homecoming he deserves. I’m sure he’ll refuse the fanfare though.

Manberg

Predator
I remember him saying in either 2011 or 2012 that he can write a book about the departures of Fabregas and Nasri. He wrote a book but it hardly revealed anything we didn't already know. It's disappointing.

Hmm..when was the last time you walked away from something or someone you dedicated 22 years to?

If you haven’t then how could you say such things?

Don’t think he’s being a baby at all, all very understandable to me.

My thing is, Gazidis installed a whole continental model to make sure Wenger never happens again. Then he bounces to AC Milan.

Within a handful of years the whole ting is dismantled, everyone is fired and we find ourselves in a Wenger model again.

Look at the whole Özil situation, look at the sackings.

You don’t need Wenger to snitch and spell out everything to you, the club is a joke and has been for a while now. Some of you have to learn to read between the lines.

I’m glad he didn’t do a tell all smutty book and chose to reflect on his career instead. It wouldn’t have helped Arteta.

Ferguson walked away after 27 years. Still attends every Utd match, even in ill health.

Ferguson left on his own terms. Wenger was under pressure to leave for years, stayed, won 3 FA Cups, offered to leave after the third but stayed on again because the club had no plan, then was let go the next year after being the scapegoat for yet another season that saw Gazidis undermine all of his authority by changing the club structure to something that didn't last two years.

Not really the same situation.

Irrelevant.

You have two icons who spent over two decades at their respective clubs. One knew when it was time to walk away. The other was adamant even when it was obvious to most that he’d taken the club as far as he could.

Now one represents his club like a true ambassador while the other is still sulking, harbours bitterness and resentment and doesn’t seem to want anything to do with the club. Disappointing form from Arsène if you ask me.
