Right, of course, so he would be properly fighting for a starting place there - that's big competition all round. Juve has a huge pull but that would have to be a consideration

I honestly think the player himself wouldn’t have a problem coming here, with our other Brazilians (plus Edu) around. We can easily make a compelling case for why we need him, from a playing perspective. Problem is Lyon, specifically Aulas who is hard to negotiate with.

We made an offer for this guy before he went to Lyon. He made a wise choice for his career, which is respected at Arsenal. Because we target mature young players now.

He was also asked about Arsenal, and he said something like he is happy at trying to win the league with Lyon, but that he hasn't hidden his wish to go to EPL at some point.

He won't go to Juventus, especially when they are currently at Europa League spot, losing their grip in the league, while we are on the up and he wants to play in EPL. We can afford bigger wages too.

He could of course go to other top EPL teams, like United, but I hope our long standing interest, project, Edu and couple brazilian players (Gabriel & Martinelli) attract him more.

I have intuition that we will get him at some point, likely in the summer at the latest.

I can tell you we would have won against city if he were in the middle instead of Xhaka. We made a mistake not selling Xhaka and not getting a proper midfielder.
