Yea i was wrong. But still 4-5 hours a day + matchday and traveling every week can be physically and mentally draining. Leaving their salary out of the equation, its tough.

Yeah course it is , you got to give it 100 percent every session same with in the gym for an entire season . Most on here are on autopilot during a workday .

Can we add a poll for this thread?

'Who will return from the WC first, Welbeck or Mendy?'

Think he will be useful this season tbh.

We are changing system and Welbeck under guidance from Ferguson is very tactical player and understand a lot what manager ask from them.

We are struggling with defending while we learn new pressing system and I think the transformation to new tactic will be easier with Welbeck.

Good points but I do think the mindset that 'football isn't a real job' stems from jealousy of what they earn. I'm sure there's a lot of sacrifices that need to be made if you want to continue to stay at the top level earning the big dough.

The idea that the likes of welbeck enjoy a holiday on international tournament duty is another funny one. I wouldn't fancy the idea of my holiday as training, followed by being cooped up with 22 other blokes for most of the day

Envy/jealusy potato tomato

Loads of people nowadays go on workout holidays

If Danny got kids being away with some mates is mos def holiday

Ive been away several weekends this summer with my bro and others, worked hard but very relaxing

The phrase "gilded cage" comes to mind. It's a matter of freedom. Everyone should be allowed to just go off and do what they want for a good few weeks every year. No matter how luxurious their work is, it's still highly disciplined and restrictive.

The problem is that we don't really see footballers as rounded human beings. We see them solely as athletes and nothing more, even when they're not at work.

They got all the time in the world when they retire with their millions

Anyone with a 10year PL career is set for life

They can rest then

But can he play a CB?

He probably could. Good in the air, strong, can distribute out of the back.

I'm totally joking, but I do like the idea of Emery getting the best out of Welbeck and turning him into the ultimate utility player.

Arsenal Quotes

When we won the title on May 3-rd by beating Everton 4-0 as Tony Adams scored that iconic goal, we showed everyone and especially Manchester United that we could beat them. Thirteen days later, when we beat Newcastle 2-0 in the FA Cup final in the legendary Wembley Stadium, it was wonderful... I felt immensely proud for the team, for the club: this was the fantastic response I was able to give to those who had put their confidence in me, as well as those who had put me through all those difficult weeks when I first arrived.
