So basically we'd have to do f*ck up on a monumental level to not get in it? Jesus sake, I really see no benefit to it next year. It's not even a case of needing to re-learn how to walk before we can run, it's a case of re-learning how to get out of bed and dress ourselves. This club needs a system reboot.

I think whoever finishes 7th will have to play a qualifier, so potentially it'd be a case of getting knocked out in the qualifying stages to not get in.

We'd probably be better off not being in it, but at the same time it's embarrassing.

And what would be the benefit of not going? You could certainly use the money, the confidence boost of going through the first rounds and the possibility of attracting better players and coaches.

Yeah I get the reasons for being in Europe obviously, I just wonder if there's been so much residual toxicity building up inside this club for years that a period of blood-letting, as it were, might prove cathartic. A year of simplicity; just domestic competitions to focus on without the psychological baggage and expectation that Europe brings. Just a thought.
