De Zerbi would be interesting to say the least. The environment at Barca can chew you up and spit you out, even if you're a club legend who just won the league like Xavi, so to go straight into that from Brighton would be something. Really hope Barca miss out on CL football this season and get totally ****ed financially. They had a perfect opportunity when they let go of Messi to accept being non-competitive for a couple seasons and build around their young players and get back to stable financial footing before starting to sign top talent again. Instead they leveraged everything on maximum short term success boosting their income, and all they might get to show for it is 1 La Liga.

Barca is a political minefield for any manager.

By all accounts the current Barca president didn't really want Xavi, as he was closely aligned with a presidential rival at one point.

He's been running around briefing the press off the record that he wanted to promote Marquez from the B team, for half the season.

De Zerbi is a decent manager but I fear he'll get chewed up and spat out at Barca.
