That's net mate (after taxes). With a rough estimate for taxes he should be on roughly 70k per week if those figures are accurate.
2m a year lol. That like less than 50k week i guess.
**** I did the math and then saw this post...2M after tax, and footballers get taxed at basically 45% so we’re paying him about 70kpw.
I guess his **** wasn’t that big after allHow come we pulled this off without Big **** Raul negotiating?!

My quick maths based on that figure with 45% tax and 2% NI, he'd be on around 57kpw before tax, and around 38.5kpw after tax. Most likely those numbers are closer to 60kpw pre-tax and bonuses.

How come his wage is so small? Even Sokratis is on 90k
Sokratis had already a few clubs, few wages increases. Gabriel came from Lille, this is his first massive contract. How come his wage is so small? Even Sokratis is on 90k
Because we don't have idiots like Ivan throwing high wages left right and centre.
Thoughts?
Been watching a few of these since more are now on Youtube. He's had a few dodgy games, every CB does but again his raw attributes is why I'm most excited.
Also got into the team of the year at CB so must of had more good games than bad.
Yeah safe to say we're far from getting the finished product, but we knew that already.
His passing seems a bit dodgy, but then again he's playing for Lille and doubt they're as good on the ball as we are, which is why he's hoofing it quite a bit. Although it could become handy as we have seen with the Tierney-Auba link.
Can't wait for when he and Saliba take over for good.
