I'd take him because he improves the team - and we need to improve yo get back into Europe, which is the bigger picture goal imo. If he can bring enough to the side to get us over the line, why are we even debating it?

That's an exaggeration but yep.

Let's be realistic. We aren't challenging for top 4 this season, and certainly not the title. Probably not even next season. If we recruit young talented players, we might be in a position to challenge in future. Remember Arteta will surely be gone then too.

In 2-3 years Trippier will be 33-34 and probably not a starter. Buying short term got us into the mess we're in now.
