Pretty rare for a lower manager to get a chance at a rich club. Moyes one of the few. His stats for a year in charge were no worse than the Mourinho and LVG, but they cut him off at knees before he had a chance to settle in.

So this is Howe’s way into the big time via the starting gate. Not sure he’s up to it. But if can hang in until the money bites, it’s a hell of an opportunity for him.
Exactly, it's a huge opportunity for Howe, feels a bit short term for Newcastle but maybe that's how they are viewing it as well. Realistically it's going to be difficult in January to do much, especially in a relegation battle. This looks like a lifeboat managerial appointment.

Looks like Balague was spot on about the club being a bit all over the place.
It's early days, no surprises as there'll still be a lot of politics and misalignments.

They just really need to ensure safety at this point. Anything else will be a bonus

Honestly people on here were jealous of Newcastle getting this takeover! What a ****ing shambles this is. All the money in the world and they're struggling to get an unemployed Eddie Howe in the door.
Imagine the mess when they actually start trying to sign players. Hopefully they start offering us stupid money, like £35M+ for Rob Holding after their first 5 options for CB fall through

Nobody want to go there lol. It's either they see no plans or afraid to get it wrong because of how poor thier squad. The takeover should have been happen next summer even if Newcastle in championship it'll be easier to get things right
