Isn't our AAA rating based upon making all sort of financial disclosures, having a net transfer cap and keeping a significant cash reserve? Basically liquidity tests?

If we do have money, then why haven't we signed any players save Rosicky? Does Wenger still think Hoyte, Song, Flamini and Djourou are good enough to consistently start and significantly contribute to a side that capable of winning the league? Is he confident that Freddie can stay fit and Clichy will recover and improve (he isn't even close to the finished article)? If Reyes walks this week or in January will we have enough players? Will Adebayor score? Consistently?

I'm fairly certain that not bringing in players is a down to Arsène's confidence in the players he's got combined with obvious financial constraints.

I'd like to think there is a reason why haven't signed a CB, a LB, a CM, a DM, a real backup GK and maybe a striker when there were/are so many available options at all sorts of budgets. While I'm not endorsing any particular player here and recognize that some aren't necessarily Arsenal quality, I think most all of them would bring something to the squad.

CB: Curtis Davies, Vincent Kompany, Anton Ferdinand, Joleon Lesott, Khalid Boulahrouz, Jaap Stam (do you think he would have passed up an opportunity to pull one over on Fergie?), Lilian Thuram, Gaël Givet, Radhi Jaidi, Sylvain Distin, Per Mertesacker, Mexes, John Mensah, John Heitinga, Gabriel Milito, Jorge Andrade, Juan, Fernando Meira, Andriy Rusol, Assimiou Touré, Tomas Ujfalusi, Goran Gavrancic, Younes Kaboul, Jacques Faty, Ronald Zubar, Lucien Aubey, Chivu, Joseph Yobo, Pablo Ibanez, Gabriel Paletta.

LB: Carlos Salcido, Ricardo Gardner, Taye Taiwo, Leighton Baines, Kakhaber Kaladze, Marek Jankulovski, Marcel Jansen, Tim de Clerc, Urby Emanulson, Ze Roberto, Maxwell, Jérémy Berthod, Hatem Trabelsi, Benoît Assou-Ekotto, Hossein Kaabi, Celestine Babayaro, Arthur Boka, Mariano Pernia, Fabio Aurelio, Gareth Barry, Antonio Lopez, Olexandr Romanchuk.

DM: Hedwiges Maduro, Mathieu Bodmer, M. Diarra, A. Diarra, Rio Antonio Mavuba, Manuel Fernandes, Achille Emana, Marcos Senna, George Boateng, Anatoliy Tymoschuk, Papa Bouba Diop, Ousmane Dabo, Abdoulaye Faye, Modeste M'Bami, Borja Oubiña, Christian Obodo, Owen Hargreaves, Didier Zokora, Fernando Gago.

CM: Jean Makoun, Yaya Toure, Reo-Coker, Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan, Tim Borowski, Thomas Gravesen, Wesley Sneijder

Wide Players/Wingers: Simao Sabrosa, Franck Ribery, Jefferson Farfan, Vincente, Maxi Rodriguez, S. Kalou, Peter Odemwingie, Ricardo Vaz Te, Morten Gamst Pedersen, David Odonkor, Yossi Benayoun, Steven Reid, Steed Malbranque, Jimmy Bullard, Julien Faubert, Karim Benzema, Florent Malouda, Adrian Mutu.

Strikers: Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Julio Baptista, Ricardo Oliveira, Obafemi Martins, Craig Bellamy, Dirk Kuyt, Fernando Torres, David Villa, Yakubu, Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski, David Trezeguet, Milan Baros, Andy Johnson, Dimitar Berbatov, Henri Camara, Benni McCarthy, Javier Saviola, Aruna Dindane, John Utaka, Henrique Ewerthon, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mido, Tevez.

Keeper: Tomasz Kuszczak, Andreas Isaksson, Mickaël Landreau, Lukasz Fabianski, Shaka Hislop, Carlos Kameni, ect.

Arsenal Quotes

I think without doubt that Bergkamp is the most talented player to have played for Arsenal in the past 30 years, for as long as I can remember
