The Wish List

Yup, same.still keeping my fingers crossed for something out of left field like di Maria or nani.. Even Ben arfa or Robben, not the first time we put all our eggs in one injury prone basket. Mata or el shar, of course, would be stuff of dreams. Is Suarez grown out of wish list yet?

I have a sneaky feeling we'll pull the rabbit out of the hat in that area tho.as good as Tommy or jacky are at what they do, we have none bar Santi with any semblance of swag :( I thought Bernard was it, but had to ground myself and limit the expressions to oxlade level. Draxler or coutinho type if pushing it and many things go right. The fact that we're looking in Brazil or maybe even in Portugal is encouraging

Not for this window, but next summer I want us to pay whatever it takes to sign Draxler.

di maria
draxler
gustavo
ginter

di maria to play rw, with walcott either central or on the left
draxler to play as an AM or LW, alternating with cazorla
gustavo and ginter are obvious

i think we can get all 4 for less than £70m combined.

Recon he'll replace Robben or Ribery at Bayern in a year or 2.

I think he has a 45 million euro release clause, next summer that might actually be a fair price for him if he keeps progressing.

Reminds me a bit of young Cronaldo and the monkey boy tbh. Same size, very athletic, good dribbler, eye for a goal, good shooting. Would love to see him here in the future and wouldn't mind him being our big signing next summer at all. But I think we'll need to step up as a club and team for him to want to come here to be honest, at least assuming he actually becomes top class and doesn't stagnate.

Edwin Valencia- DMF for the Colombian national team. Is a monster all over the pitch and allows the mids and attackers to go forward and is just all over the pitch. Has won two titles with Fluminense in the Brasilian league in the last three years. A player like this would allow Arteta/Ramsey to play more advanced. I believe that Colombia is doing great because of this guy and not so much Falcao like everybody believes.

This is old footage and he has actually gotten better. Yes youtube makes players look better but they way he just tackles and goes in reminds you of Flamini at his prime here.

Weren't you talking about our lack of width and our overreliance on FBs to provide this width in some other thread? If so, why would you want Suarez to play on the left? He could be effective there, but he just isn't a wide player. He is always going to drift inside. I think we should be looking for one CF and a specialist wide forward a la Overmars.

obviously if this was a total fantasy, i would put zlatan up front and cesc instead of draxler. ive come to the conclusion that walcott will be in the XI no matter what, and i think having him central and di maria wide right is better than having walcott wide right and giroud centrally.

If the inside forward can consistently penetrate when coming inside, then a lack of width down his flank is not an issue. For instance, Barcelona did not bemoan Messi constantly drifting inside from the right, given that he would often penetrate when doing so, likewise with Ronaldinho on the left. It's usually only the special players that are worth deploying as inside forwards, because their tendency to move into the center only makes them that much more dangerous. Whether Suarez is similarly capable, I'm not so sure, but I wanted to somehow fit Rooney into the team.

Arsenal Quotes

You kind of never leave Arsenal. How many comebacks do you make? At one point it will turn out to be a bad move. We all love the first Rocky but I'm not too sure about the last one.
