I find it hard pressed to think of any better players in the PL currently. Mo Salah's numbers have been insane, but KDB has been doing the biz for years.

I think him and Mane are clear then it’s Grealish, Son, Kane and Bruno right after.

Salah has the numbers but I’m never watching him and getting blown away by his all round play. The others are really good all round.

Yeah I was watching Liverpool vs Southampton....mane is like atleast 50% of their attack. Its like when we played Southampton we just passed to Saka to do something. Players know their best player and give him the ball when in need and Liverpool went through Mane every time and he was creating so much havoc

I don't rate KDB & I watch almost every city game. Go back to the season where he was out injured to see how much better they played with Bernardo Silva in his place. KDB is a glory hungry **** whose game is very dependent on the players surrounding him. He needs people like Sane, Sterling to get to his over hit passes, he shoots every time he gets the ball when they have a lead. He misplaces basic passes all the time & commentators say it’s uncharacteristic mistake the first time & then stop acknowledging them as he keeps on making those hospital passes. Most of his set pieces are terrible but no one ever mentions that.

The only great things in his game is that he keeps on trying, he keeps on trying to get involved. After hundred tries one of his shots go in, one of those crosses come good & those are all you hear about. Nobody even talks about the penalty he missed against Liverpool, they never talked about it even during the game ffs. Even in the games against us take out the goals/assists & he looks terrible.

The quality of midfielders & football in general have dropped so much in the last few years that players like him are treated like royalty

One of the worst posts I have ever read on here.

Also probably best not to try & justify KDB being overrated by saying he needs Sterling to make the most of his overhit passes. Laughable.

Amazing how we can watch the same game and have completely opposing views.

This has to be one of the worse takes in forum history?

I like him if we didn't already have Partey. The two of them together would make us solid defensively, but going forward, i think we need a player a little more adventurous than Bissouma. He's brilliant at winning and recycling the ball, but doesn't really have a killer pass in his locker.

But I think Bissouma would be a Xhaka/Ceballos/Elneny replacement. He would play just behind Partey. We would still need a creative midfielder on top of Bissouma.

But Xhaka/Ceballos are better passers, they at least attempt killer balls and picks out the full backs runs. I like James Ward Prowse, he's developed well over the last year and a half. Unrivalled engine, fantastic press, set piece specialist, box to box, offers bits of Xhaka/Elneny/Ramsey.

I don't want to downplay Partey's passing and ability to create, tbh he's played so little that I still don't really know what he can do. It's possible he's much more creative than I thought. But I kinda get the impression a lot of fans are overstating how good he is going forward, saying like "we need a new DM cos that's not actually what Partey is".

I feel like if you label Partey as a DM other people think you're reductive and not appreciative of his qualities. Like sure he's not a purely defensive midfielder, whatever that is, but if there was a spectrum of midfielders with defensive at one end and creative at the other, tbh I think Partey would be closer to defensive than creative.

Like we bought Partey, this amazing transfer coup with everyone saying we finally got what we needed in midfield, and less than 6 months later fans are saying we need a physical DM cos that's not what Partey is? I don't buy it.

So I suspect you're right. I'm not against someone like Bissouma, it's a useful profile to have in a squad, but i'm not sure Partey-Bissouma is the great all-encompassing partnership some fans think it is. It might be good for certain games, but for other games it's way too defensive.

The holy grail for this Arsenal team isn't a guy like Bissouma, it's finding a guy like Cesc or Santi. Put a young Cesc or Santi next to Partey and you really do have an all-encompassing partnership. We should be looking for that guy.

Absolutely agree. I'd like us to get either another Partey type, or a slightly more box to box CM to play next to him. One who can burst into the box, or drift wide and deliver a cross, basically one who can be all over the pitch, like KDB. This is why i like James Ward Prowse and Declan Rice.

I agree although I feel we need a Xhaka/Elneny replacement becuase we cant just have Partey as the only DM. I think Xhaka will be moved on in the summer. Elneny could go any time. Agree we need a Santi type player as well.
