Only if the tackle is a genuine attempt to play the ball fairly...

Like Clattenburg said (you ignored him), Luiz can clearly be interpreted as playing the ball fairly, as he makes no move toward the player and is running towards the ball, which means he is trying to play the ball fairly. The attacker hit his knee by bending it, so there was no intentional foul by Luiz.

Yeah but after ref gone to var monitor he change his decision . It's s mess

That should have been a penalty and a red according to many people here.

In fact Cavanagh here gave a yellow (not a red even if Pogba makes a worse foul, it's not an accident, he runs into the player) and a penalty first, before going to the screen and overruling his decision totally.

No one can keep on saying the rules are clearly saying something. The refereeing in EPL is calamitous.

You have to take in account that it was Manchester United of course. ****ing bastards. Every **** decision they get in their favour takes me back to the famous Mike Riley game at Old Trafford. More than 15 years ago and I can still get so mad about it.
Alot of clubs start to get notice how bad Mike Riley is they now will push to make changes because all problems is down to him

It's a shame about the dodgy Luiz red call. Partey and Saka were excellent, Holding good (as always), Pepe took his goal well, even Bellerin played well (the end is nigh!) and Gabriel looked good in the second half.

Just have to put this match behind us...it stings, badly stings...but the best thing we can do now is bounce back and get a result against Villa!

Backing the boys to do just that, they have played well in pretty much every match since Chelsea.

It will be hard to get over but that is probably the best thing & hope for a good bounce back next game, give Pawson & the Wolves a shock against AV.

Is there any sport that the umpire has a heavy influence on the final outcome as much as football?

Football authority should do something about it. The level of Influence referees hold over the result of a football match is just too much.

Arsenal Quotes

Don’t be scared to be ambitious. It’s not a humiliation to have a high target and to fail. For me, the real humiliation is to have a target and not to give everything to reach it.
