The Brazilian looks to have no future at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of new boss Andre Villas-Boas.

Alex is a transfer target for Arsenal and Juventus (PA)
Juventus have made no secret of their desire to sign the 29-year-old, but have a limited transfer budget and had hoped to land him on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer.
Arsenal have now expressed an interest in Alex and have the funds available to meet the Blues' asking price, reports Tuttosport.
Should the Gunners make a firm bid for the Chelsea star, Juventus are likely to look at cheaper options, such as Zenit St Petersburg's Bruno Alves or Fenerbahce's Diego Lugano.
Alex was not among Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger's top defensive targets at the beginning of the transfer window, but the fees being asked for Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka and Chris Samba have persuaded him to consider other options.
The Brazilian represents the chance to acquire an experienced Premier League central defender for a comparatively cheap price, but it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will agree to sell to a top-four rival.

If Chelsea are getting rid of him, then they're going to go straight to Cahill and throw a big sack of money at Gartside/Coyle. Wenger needs to act fast.

There's little to no chance of them selling to us, why would they even consider strengthening their rivals? Even the reported £6m is ridiculous reporting but it's the Metro, I think the rumour was originally from the Sun recently.

Alex wants to bite into a CL medal at the end of the season. The lad will stay, this is seems like a routine rumour

Would rather Alex than Cahill, to be honest. Beast in the air and hopefully will score a few with his rocket launcher free kicks.

Yeah almost forgot about those FK's.. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5NfTTk-F5I" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5NfTTk-F5I</a>

I don't have a preference. Cahill seems to realistic candidate at the moment though.

Cahill is much younger, so he's a better long term option.

But I'd have Alex here in a minute to partner Kos as the 2nd unit, pushing Djourou to 5th choice and Squid out of the club. Not sure he'd be a bang on starter at Juve, and with our fitness record, he'd have to figure he'll get plenty of games here.

It's kind of odd how we get consistently linked with Chelsea players every window. First Malouda, then Alex. I can't see them needing to sell players to us, nor can I see any of their players desperate to join us over another club. I would have thought they'd rather sell to a non-rival for less.

Sound reasoning, but the two clubs have sold each other players in the recent past - Gasllas, Cashley and Diarra spring to mind.

I'll never forget the screamer he scored against us. One of the best free kicks I've ever seen.

True, but it could be argued Gallas only came this way because Cashley went the other, not that they simply decided to sell us a player we wanted.

Would be a solid signing, PL and CL experience, is able to take a fantastic shot and is able to be a starting option with Koscielny competing which is a situation we need.

Would be very happy to see him join us.

Decent enough defender, but he's never kicked on and become the kind of player he once looked like he might.

It could also be argued that a player will only move to a club if he's happy with the move. Gallas wouldn't have moved to Stoke, for instance.

When I arrived, an Arsenal share was worth £800; it subsequently rose continuously in value and by the time I left it stood at £17,000.
