At the other end of the table beyond the Hawks and Crackhead FC taking it in turns to rip off consistent losing streaks @Clrnc City have been absolutely savaged by some of the cruelest luck. At home to fellow strugglers FC SUAGA (@Uncle Good-Advice @SA Gunner) one of the wildest games of the season occurs...

Leading 1-0 with 30 minutes left they look on course for a vital win to make a late charge for top 4 but the unthinkable happens 10 minutes later. Two corners for SUAGA and two goals, first poked home by Kimmich then a towering header from Danny Blind.

The game changed in an instant but City aren't bothered and Savicevic immediately rifles home a loose ball to bring them back on terms. They push for a winner but again set pieces work against them, another corner and after some penalty area pinball Danny Blind pokes home again for surely what must be a late winner!

Desperation sits in and City start pumping in crosses from substitutes Sneijder and Raul then unbelievably it pays off... a inexplicable handball from a leaping Lucio and the referee points to the spot in the final minute of injury time.

Romario grabs the ball and after some sh*thousery on the penalty spot from Xavi he's ready to take. He stares down Buffon, runs up and...

BUFFON SAVES!!!

The ball's hacked away by an onrushing Gilberto and the referee blows the whistle. Romario sinks to the ground while meters away Buffon is mobbed by his teammates, bench and all the coaching staff. The Clrnc Stadion sits in disbelief at what they've seen.

With only 9 games left the all conquering Sauce Squad have worked a four point gap and just need to get past an away game at a resurgent @A_G FC sitting in third place and they're on the home stretch to a bye week...

1680226338735.png

They get blown away by the Argentines...

No worries just win against Iftarsenal FC home... they fall behind 2-0 early to a Baresi header and Essien screamer. They can't turn it back round. Loss 2 on the bounce.

Loss 3 follows when @Clrnc City smash them 3-0. They're collapsing like an Ikea bookshelf and they're now at risk of missing out on a bye altogether. A trip to bottom feeders Crackhead FC is the perfect chance to put things right until Samuel Eto'o pops up in the 70th minute and it's their 4th loss in 5 games.

All of which means with four games to go the table has been blown wide open...

No-one can really put a consistent winning run together and even though AGFC are topping the league spot they're only 4 points away from missing out on a bye spot it's that open...

However this doesn't last. AGFC gets two big away results away to Pigge Utd and Farzad Wanderers with Messi delivering in a nervy 1-0 win.

Meanwhile 4Juan6 are putting the clamps on everyone, keeping cleansheets in 3 huge games against Iftarsenal, Clrnc City and the Hawks to get 9 points.

Finally with only one game to go, AGFC and 4Juan6 are the first teams to lock up a first round bye for the knockout stage...

1680228502467.png

And on the final day of the season we have an incredible SIX teams in the hunt for the two remaining spots.

The games that matter for the final day are:

Sauce Squad vs FC SUAGA
@pigge Utd vs @Clrnc City
AGFC vs Hunskelpers
Farzad Wanderers vs Iftarsenal

Hunskelpers have a poor goal difference so even if they draw they're still vulnerable to get leapfrogged. FC SUAGA are the unlikeliest, they need to beat Sauce Squad away then hope for a draw between Iftarsenal and Farzad Wanderers but also hope a resting AGFC beat Hunskelpers.

If Pigge Utd can win and one of the teams above them drop points they're guaranteed a bye due to their superior goal difference.

The grudge match is Farzad Wanderers and Iftarsenal FC. An intense war of words is fought through the press in the build up, the Iranian and Moroccan managers devoting entire press sessions to cuss their hated rival out.

One of them needs to win and hope results go their way.

So four huge games with only two precious spots for the six teams in the hunt.

The first goal comes in the Wanderers - Iftarsenal derby and it's one of the unlikeliest scorers possible. A beautiful turn of one touch passing on the edge of the penalty area ends with Iniesta cushioning a feather pass for a marauding Patrice Evra who puts it past Alisson at his near post and then celebrates in front of the home fans.

They rain coins down on him, the managers fight on the sideline and the game is immediately halted for five minutes.

With no goals in the other games so far as it stands, Iftarsenal and Hunskelpers are in for a bye.

News filters through to the faithful in the Santiago Saucio and they will their team on, and they start laying siege to the SUAGA goal who need a win themselves. Buffon making huge saves to deny Ronaldinho and MBappe.

Meanwhile Pigge Utd have completely failed to get in the game and Clrnc City who are out of the running for top 4 are completely dominating them. Hunskelpers meanwhile have decided that playing for a draw is probably the best course of action and have camped 11 men behind the ball in the AG Arena.

Back to the Camp Farz when 20 minutes in a Yaya Toure clearing header from a corner sits up for Michael Ballack who thumps it into the top corner from the edge of the box. 1-1 and Hunskelpers and Sauce Squad are back in top 4.

Sauce Squad meanwhile finally break through against SUAGA, Ronaldinho hitting a beautiful curler into the far top corner away from a diving Buffon. They leapfrog Hunskelpers into third on the day.

Speaking of Hunskelpers they're lucky to survive when a Drogba flop in the box for a penalty is given but overturned by VAR. Still goalless.

Pigge Utd meanwhile still can't string two passes together against City.

10 minutes after scoring Wanderers are on the attack and a Roberto Carlos cross finds it's way past everyone and is bundled in at the back post by Kyle Walker. The Ifstarsenal players are fuming, they think Walker fouled Evra and surround the ref and indeed it goes to VAR with a nervous wait for everyone in the stadium...

The decision flashes up on the screen...

GOAL!

The Camp Farz explodes in noise, the managers fight on the sideline again and this time both are sent off. They both disappear down the tunnel only to fight again and the game is delayed five minutes.

Half time comes and goes and as it stands Sauce Squad sit in third with Hunskelpers only hanging onto fourth by goal difference from Wanderers.

Iftarsenal need to go all out and they make a substitution at halftime sending Diego Costa on for Essien to try and get them a goal.

The minutes tick agonisingly by in all four games without any goals, Costa scraps with Kyle Walker but no goals are on the horizon. Iftarsenal start sending committing more and more in search of a way back and after 78 minutes something gives.

A brilliant pass from Del Piero sets Neymar racing away on the counter, he pulls his pass across the edge of the box where Lewandowski dummies it for substitute Koke. He plays in an overlapping Muller who whips it past Navas for 3-1.

Their bubble is burst in the Santiago Saucio however when Van Dijk flops for a Squad penalty after a corner. VAR however judges it to be a free kick, no matter as Toni Kroos steps and bangs it top corner for 2-0 and all but sealing the Sauce Squad's bye. Even an 87th minute goal from Thierry Henry to halve the deficit is too late to get them back into it.

Wanderers only hope now is for AGFC to get a late winner but they're content to take off their starters bringing utility man Albelda for Abedi Pele to see out the draw. Pigge FC are trying to attack but it's too little, too late as their game ends a drab 0-0 and @pigge FC have blown their chances of the bye.

Iftarsenal sink further into the mire when a short corner by Wanderers is whipped into the box for a 90th minute towering header by John Terry to make it 4-1. Just as the goal celebrations die down the crowd begins to cheer again...

A penalty has been given in the AG Arena for AGFC.

Their fans gather round portable radios. If Lionel Messi scores at this late stage Farzad Wanderers will leapfrog Hunskelpers into fourth.

Messi calmly places the ball, walks back and nonchalantly begins his run up. The Camp Farz holds it's breath in anticipation as he...

blazes it over the bar...

minutes later the referee blows for time and somehow Hunskelpers survive. Wild celebrations start in Glasgow as @bingobob has scraped a bye week for the knockout tournament. Farzad Wanderers trudge off the pitch knowing they'll be playing in the first round of the knockouts despite their huge derby win.

Ooo nice draw for the kid there, as top seeded without bye it will take a massive upset to keep me out of quarterfinals but the ball is round
