Diego Forlán

Well, yes, there is that.

But, Forlan was well liked at Manchester Utd, and apart from scoring goals, he did very well there. In Spain, he's had two very prolific seasons now, and as far as I'm aware, the goal is the same size in both leagues.

Generally I'm not very keen on forlan, but he might not be as bad as you think.

As a 3rf or 4th choice striker , as a guy to partner Henry or RVP or Ade for 10-15 games . Would be very good.

Yeah for free, but for the money we'd have to spend and the wages he'd want it'd be a spectacularly bad move for 10-15 games a season.

And he's a ManU reject, oh the shame...

I'm hoping that there is some truth to the rumour.

If it is the case that Liverpool are interested, and they do end up buying Forlan, it would be one more overpriced player going to Anfield, giving us a better chance of taking 3rd position than if a solid striker went over.

In this instance Marca is possibly innocent - could be a ploy by Villareal or the striker's agent to increase the forlorn one's value.

United have raised the stakes, admits Quagliarella

^Sampdoria bought the other 50% today for 4 million so a deal could be closer now, easyer to deal with one club. If an bigger Italian club makes an offer he has said he would like to stay in Italy. (EDIT these reports were untrue, in the end do agreement on co ownership was found so blind auction next week).

Also I read Sunderland want Forlan! a bit of a shock as its widely reported Keane gave him a very hard time almost bullying while at United. Keane has since said sorry after finding how homesick & family problems Forlan had but bidding for him is a bit mad.

Forlan turned down Sunderland in January.

What a joke. What a real joke. Forlan is valued at £15.5million - a man who failed to grace his boots in the Premiership, a Manc reject and barely make an impact in Villarreal, a slower paced La Liga side and closing his value to a man grace the Premiership as one of the best strikers - Thierry. £16million. Really makes you wonder how over priced these clubs can put on a player's head.

He's a smoke screen for the 14 year old coming out of Athletico's academy.......

Yes not a transfer thats going to happen. Can't see Forlan ever returning to England.
