Announce it on Sunday, get a priest in to do it. Bit of a mass for our new player. That'd show real intent. Not like these buffoons at Liverpool and Sunderland announcing players on a week day.

What? You miss the point, I just want signings; the day they're announced is irrelevant, just wish it was to the club.

Or keep it super quiet and announce them at kickoff vs Newcastle.

not even. slip them on as secret subs after halftime.

You'll see....everyone is going to drop their jaw when they see us put on messi in the 65th minute, despite him not being on the roster.

Seems as though there's a hold up due to some paperwork. Only once that's out the way can the work permit be obtained so it's going to be a while longer to confirm the transfer. Means Gervinho will not be on the plane to Malaysia.

He might not be on the initial flight to Malaysia, but I imagine if we get the signing wrapped on Monday, he can fly down and meet the squad.

Next up we'll hear he failed his medical so will need to take another one. It's delay after delay, after delay with this deal, just get it done and move on to our next target!

It's not just paperwork, it's large sums of money. Bonuses, contract clauses, wages, rights agreements, etc. Football contracts are incredibly complex, and signing a player takes more time than you'd think.

coudln't give a toss if we unveil him today or Monday...main thing is the deal is pretty much done...just formalities to sort out

Wenger confirmed that striker Gervinho is close to completing his move to the Gunners from Lille. And the 61-year-old is doing all he can to add “one or two” more players to the Arsenal ranks.

It really can't take much longer now I guess, maybe he'll be announced on Monday next week.

Aye, Arsène wouldn't say something like that unless it was 99% done.

Are we there yet????

Our transfer negotiations take longer than paint does to dry or grass to grow, and are about as much fun as having teeth pulled. AW's target numbers aren't based upon finances or the quality he thinks we have = he simply runs out of time.....
