what does it matter if henry plays or not? he hasnt scored at home in the champions league for almost two years! Maybe if henry isnt there, it will encourage them to come out and play a little more which can only be good for us.

I doubt it, they need a draw and will play for one.

He might not of scored but still leads our front line well, he has made chances for others and keeps 2 or 3 players busy which sometimes allows others to get a yard of space.

STM there. One performance doesn't make them all!

Well then, stop listing the mancs and chelsea games as examples of coping without him.

obviously henry keeping other defenders busy hasnt worked at home because we'v still struggled to get goals at home. The truth is that evry european team knows that our attacks mainly come through henry. They then mark him out of the game, but no other player can utilise the yard of space you are talking about because they play only through henry. So everytime we attack, we are more or less hitting a brick wall (all our second phase home games of last year springs to mind)i will put my faith in whatever 11 that starts in the arsenal red on wednesday night, with or without henry. i suggest evryone else does the same rather than crying over the possible abscence of a player that has as much chance of hampering us as helping us.

Last season too many of our key players just didn't perform. Freddie, Pires and Dennis. Those 3 are vital to us but were rubbish last season, thus Henry had to carry our attack by himself.

In the games against valencia, roma and ajax we had chances, we just didn't take them. In tight games u have to take whatever chances u get and we were rubbish infront of goal. I remember in the valencia game their keeper making a few good stops.

Difference is that these are two big games. I could name more too. However, you can name one game in which Henry has been missing and we haven't produced!

so really you are agreeing with me in saying that with freddie, pires and dennis returning to form henry is less important and wont be missed as much.

Don't forget in the Chelsea away match we had Henry, Pires, Ljundberg and Bergkamp out. Then after 50mins we had Vieira sent off. Still clawed a goal back and looked dangerous on the counters...

Its quite weird how Henry is like never injured, only missed one game last season!

Yep. While those 3 are playing poor Henry will be needed, once those 3 hit form Henry will still be needed but not relyed on as much.

We drew away in a fiercely contested derby against one of our main rivals. Christ, you have high expectations?! We even drew there with Henry in the double season 01/02. In fact, our only win there for a few years came when Henry wasn't in the team in the FA Cup (as i mention it again) ;)

This is a big blow, really. It's not entirely true that we cannot score goals without him but he really does makes a difference when he plays.

Whatever happens, I will be glued to the television set tomorrow to cheer for our beloved team.

Anry's got a sore knee, how can he kick anything or anyone? :p
Pooh, why should we fear him at all, he's an old baldy man haunted by rheumatism... 8)

Revealing insight into the game tommorow. Loko basically think we're ****- "the easiest CL game we have played," "Inter Milan played crap" in our 5-1 victory.

We can expect them to heavily mark Henry.

Double act for Henry
By Leo Spall, Evening Standard
9 December 2003
Lokomotiv Moscow will take man-marking to a new level tomorrow when they put two defenders on Thierry Henry.

A draw at Highbury will be enough for the Russians to go through from Group B in the final game of this Champions League stage. Arsenal need to win to be sure of qualification.

Henry, who destroyed Internazionale in the 5-1 rout a fortnight ago, is set to play after coming through training yesterday following a knee injury that kept him out of Saturday's draw at Leicester.

Lokomotiv are clearly worried about the influence that FIFA World Player of the Year nominee Henry could have on the game and have marked him out for special treatment.

Defender Jacob Lekgetho said: "Henry is definitely the man of the moment. There will be times when he can kill us and we will have to be patient with him. He is probably the best in the world right now but if we put two guys against him it will be easier for us. If there is only one player then he has not got any cover."

Lokomotiv are full of confidence after a successful European campaign which has included a 3-0 victory against Inter.

They have spent the last week training and relaxing in Marbella as preparation for tomorrow's game and believe all the pressure is on Arsenal.

South African Lekgetho said: "It is the last game and they really need to get through to the next stage for lots of reasons.

"If we can score first it will unsettle them and cause them problems with the crowd. Playing in front of their fans means the people at Highbury will want more from them.

"There will not be any pressure on us but we will not be playing for a draw. We want to win convincingly. If they take us for granted they will pay.

"We drew with them in Moscow but we should have won because Arsenal did not play so well and we could have punished them.

"That was one of the easiest games we have had in the Champions League this season. I saw the highlights of their game in Milan but I don't think the Italians are doing that well at the moment anyway.

"We have to respect Arsenal but not fear them. It could be difficult but we are prepared to fight until the last minute."

Lokomotiv full-back Vadim Evseev, at the centre of an elbowing row with Ryan Giggs during Russia's Euro 2004 play-off win over Wales, is likely to feature.

First of all his name is Henry and secondly never ever insult an Arsenal player infront of me.

Show Thierry some respect

So what's the news, how's his knee? Hope out of order
Wenger'd better save Anry for the PL...

He's back to kick yo ass.

Who is back? Just another french invalid? Guys, winter is russian season. Pray, you won't lose 1-4 as in 2000. Ciao!

I think this is true (at the moment anyway)

Come, come, I was just kidding and meant not insult calling Henry old...everyone knows he's not old and hasn't got a rheumatism  Read above how Jacob respects him.

to Kyla:
We (and Loko) don't think Arse 're a ****, rather a top-class team. It was Lekhetho's personal opinion, and he's a belligerent person. And Inter was really not so interish in the last game, Inter now is the weakest team in Group B. Agree?
