Not a single alternative has been mentioned in the media, right? That seems to suggest this deal is pretty much done. So why am i still nervous it’s going to fall through?

It could be that he is Option A and our Option B is already in place ie Monreal or Kola, that would explain no alternatives mentioned.

Emery basically said this. We are only going to sign players to improve us. Its fair to say Tierney has been our only left back target and with that the club feel nothing else improves us significantly to justify signing someone else. Especially if we can go back in for Tierney in January.

Although interestingly Celtic are rumoured to be in for another left back, Rico Henry.

Tierney coming back from double hernia issues, Arsenal wanting to prioritise funds on a quality CB for now. An imaginative solution (Raul?) would be minimal upfront to guarantee a transfer while letting Celtic keep him at least until Jan 2020.

We don’t suddenly get more money in January. If there’s budget problems they’d be the same in January as they are now.

January would be a good idea, he isn't even fit anyways and who knows how many set-backs he might have.

Priority should be a cb right now.

Yep, probably. Let it be something similar to Saliba then, i.e. back to Celtic for the season. Monreal was decent enough against Barca. CB is more important than LB for now, imo.
