Replacing Auba will be fine, good player but not world class
Since we're getting Arteta and this threads the most active and most off topic.
If we sell Auba and Laca which striker do we bring in to replace?
Özil should not be a stick for all. That’s short sighted. We need to plan for the future not for today. Auba would want at least a two year extension and around £300k a week. You’re just asking for another Özil situation.
Giveth MartinelliSince we're getting Arteta and this threads the most active and most off topic.

If we were proactive, we’d agree a deal to sign Erling Haaland in January but let him stay at his club until the summer and sell Aubameyang for 70m in January.
This season is a write off anyways.
Haaland and Martinelli would be fantastic young options upfront.
Well we had a head coach of a team who was consistently top 4, and the fans worked day and night to undermine him. Then we had another former head coach of a team and fans were desperate to get rid of him too.Can you imagine how long it‘d take for us to to bring in someone who‘s actually the head coach of a team?
Emery said that he wanted energy of the players transmitted to the fans, wanted us to play protagonist football...... in the end look at what happened. Whatever football Arteta wants us to play is irrelevant cause everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
The holes in our squad have been there for years. Depends on what you define as a 'hole'? I'd call players like Özil, Xhaka, Mustafi and Sokratis 'holes', and apart from Sokratis, they've been here years. Bellerin? Another hole... Been here years. Chambers and Holding? More rubbish. Been here years.Interesting to see that people see big holes in our squad physically and mentality yet most fail to admit that last two transfers windows were we signed around 10 players was not that good.
Very few players are going to want to come here until we can show we can win things again. No longer have a legendary manager to woo people and players will see how the club has treated certain players over the last 18 months or so. We're in for a rough time.
You think the legendary manager would still be wooing players despite where we'd most probably be sitting in the league, had the legendary manager stayed?Very few players are going to want to come here until we can show we can win things again. True, but things have gone straight downhill since then.We said that last year though, got the highest rated winger in Europe, one of the best young CB prospects, a very highly rated Ceballos who was wanted at plenty of places.
This club still has a massive pull. Players might be attracted to the rebuild.
3rd or 4th? Yeah. You think the legendary manager would still be wooing players despite where we'd most probably be sitting in the league, had the legendary manager stayed?
