We need a freekick specialist. Gerrard or juninho paulista both fit the role sublimly
I know im going to get crucified from some people for suggesting this but i cant see a problem with viera for cash + beckham. we all know how well he can play the english style of play andhe is good with free kicks(of course dont let him take penalties) but just look at his cult following around the world and think of all the extra millions in merchandise etc the club could benifit from plus there is talk recently of real looking to offload him

ah ha he would help to increase big name singings as well! I htink his desire is Chelsea though

Why would Viera want to leave after all these years? Just to win the championsleague with Real (who never will again for sure) or some other crap club? Arsenal have definetly a strong enough squad to win it so just because of the failures in the last couple of years he wants to leave????????

The problem with Becks is that in my opinion he doesn't fit in our squad. But as ozgooner said he still understands the British way of playing football and he brings much money into the club.

dont want to start a new thread on this so i mention it here....i saw it on champs league special programme, inter lining up a bid for pat in exchange for adriano. it sounds quite an unbelievable offer. adriano and reyes can keep rotating positions as LW and CF.

I saw that programe as well, but it never mentioned a swap with Adriano, it just said that were going to make an offer for Patrick.

i'm a bit skeptical. why on earth would someone want to let adriano go. certainly not inter who are having problems. hez the one guy who can get them out of the ****.
not our problem though :D i think he would be great for arsenal.

I've heard the rumour that Inter are preparing a bid for Vieira but I didn't hear anything about Adriano (and I highly doubt it!)

Yeah sure they're going to swap the one player they depend on so heavily for Vieira

thats the thing....i dont think they depend on Adriano too much.

He is no doubt quality, but Mancini is a **** and is more interested in using Cruz as a striker with Vieri in the mix and Martins. Dont know why.

Mancini is a **** if he doesn't use him, but every time they've played without him this season they've looked completely lost.

Viera for adriano?? if only we could be so lucky!! As if it would happen, we would have heard some speculation about it in a paper.

Owen for Viera?

Real madrid will try and temp Arsenal into selling Viera, with Owen used as bait (the sunday people)

Would this be a good idea? i personally would love to see owen in an arsenal shirt. I think he has more good years left in him than paddy.

would be *. even though vieira might be past it, owen is completely useless and would bring absolutely nothing to our squad or first team. owen is not good enough for real madrid, why would he be good enough for us then...?

Great idea, Viera is just an unknown player, so an exchange for Owen who be great.

Arsenal Quotes

Ian Wright was the incredible striker for whom those around him sometimes found hard to control especially the opponents. He was an extrovert, hyperactive, and had endured an extremely hard life. His playing style was instinctive, and he had that killer instinct, a player like no other.
