Net spend amount: £50-70m according to AST member predictions.

Players out:
-Mustafi £20m
-Perez £5m
-Asano £2m
-Ramsey £35m
-Welbeck £15m

Total budget: approx £135m

Players in:
-Leno £20m
-Sokratis £15m
-Torreira £30m
-Bailey/Dembele £50-60m

Spent approx £125m of the £135m. (Net spend around £50-60m)

Lineup:

Leno
Bellerin Sokratis Mavro Kolasinac
Torreira Xhaka
Özil
Mkhitaryan Auba Bailey
Subs: Ospina, Chambers, Monreal, Wilshere, Lacazette
Loan out Holding in January when Kos returns

Our midfield finally has balance and so does our attack with proper width
This would be about exactly what I would to see, although ideally I'd see a different CB for Sokratis.

In: Leno, Koulibaly, Zakaria

Out: Ospina, Martinez, Jenkinson, Perez, Campbell etc

On loan: Holding, Willock, maybe Iwobi maybe not, maybe Nketiah maybe not

- Leno*, Cech, Macey
- Bellerin, Koulibaly*, Mustafi, Kos, Chambers, Mavropanos, Monreal, Kolasinac
- Ramsey, Xhaka, Zakaria*, Wilshere, Elneny, AMN
- Auba, Laca, Özil, Mkhi, Welbeck, Nelson, (Iwobi), (Nketiah)

Not sure whether to loan out Iwobi & Nketiah for their development or not, also could sell Welbeck but he is good back-up tbf. Other than that it's a simple wish list, ambitious yet doable if the club is willing to get the wallet out.

Big question is what do we need, not what do we want?

Needs

Goalkeeper - new number 1
CB - new number 1
RB - second choice
DFM - new number 1
AM / Wing - new strong squad player

Cech or Ospina as number 2, sell other
Mustafi good at centre of back 3 but mot in back 4
Chambers showing huge promise, right so de of back 3
Bellerin great wing back but not in back 4
Montreal better back 4 but Kolasniac better wing back
Need a great defensive midfielder
Ramsey more important than keeping Özil
Mykhrarian will be very important next year
Keep Aubameyang and Lacazette

Leno
Chambers / Mustafi / new Cb
Bellerin / new DM / Kolasniac
Ramsey
Özil / Aubameyang/ mykhrarian

Leno
Bellerin / Mustafi / new CB / Monreal
New DM / Xhaka
Özil / Ramsey / mykhrarian
Aubameyang

A second choice RB really shouldn't be that high on the agenda when we have AMN and Chambers that could slot in there if necessary. There's also the possibility that we'll be stuck with Jenkinson.

No player you bring in as cover is gonna be as good as that lot so it seems a bit pointless to me.

I'll throw in Ismaila Sarr there too. He's not had a great season with injury but he has so much potential to be a rapid goalscoring wide forward or even central striker. Could get him from Rennes for 10-15m. Best quality by far is his dribbling, even if his finishing isn't there right now he'd be able to stretch the play and offer something we don't have.

@Toby Andrl What do you think of Pulisic?

Would he be a good option to play wing for Arsenal?

English papers are saying Dortmund value him at £40m...

@Borussin probably knows more than I do about him.

Generally he's a quick, technical winger. Had a great start to the season adding end product to his game iirc. Dipped in form with the whole team. Good talent but I think Liverpool have dips.

He is a terrific talent but yeah, had a tough seson. I would say he's been outshone the last few games a lot by Jadon Sancho.

He's got the tools for sure, but has a way to go to bring it all together. I actually think he's been overhyped in his young career so far.

But he's quick and strong, he can beat a man, not that he's done enough of that recently, he can also play centrally, which he's done more for the US than for Dortmund. But he needs to add more end product to his game.

He is a talent that needs nurturing! I am sure Kloppo would love him at Liverpool, he'd sort him out too, would not be having him play as an out and out winger either I doubt.

I hope he sticks around longer though, under a new coach at BVB who actually knows how to coach attacking football, I think he'd find his feet again.

Rumours suggest Sp**s are willing to sell Mousa Dembele. Wonder if we could make a bid? Xhaka/Ramsey/Dembele/Maitland-Niles has everything you need in a PL centre-midfield quartet.

Btw Coquelin was sold in January and Campbell is out of contract.

I can see more or less how I'd like the goalkeepers, midfield and attack to look, but the defence is still a bit opaque.

Leno, Cech & Macey would be fine. I have doubts over Leno but his footwork is apparently good so he'd fit in with the style of play, assuming it's Arteta.

Xhaka, Ramsey, Seri, Wilshere, Elneny & AMN in midfield. Prioritising technique over everything else, making sure we get back to dominating possession. Elneny & AMN can offer stability in terms of recoveries and stamina, they'd be the workhorse options.

Aubameyang, Lacazette, Özil, Mkhitaryan form the basis of an excellent attack, supplemented by any two of Welbeck, Iwobi, Nelson & Nketiah. I'd probably send Iwobi & Nketiah out on loan. I'd like a new winger obviously but if the budget is tight then Nelson is fine.

It's the defence I can't work out, it's a total shambles. We have three young centre-backs, Chambers is good enough to provide back-up or even start perhaps, but both Holding and maybe Mavropanos could do with loans, though I'd keep Mavropanos around for another year just for him to settle a bit better. Kos is still in the squad but effectively he isn't, he can't be considered an option. Do we get one top quality centre-back or spread the money out on two? No idea. Left back area is fine. No back-up right backs, do we use Chambers & AMN for cover or invest in a specialist? It's a complete mess.

I'd love to just go for Koulibaly, he could be our lynchpin. It's such a simple solution, I'd even be happy for Mustafi to stay or for the younger CBs to start alongside Koulibaly. The problem with the Sokratis & Soyuncu rumours is that it's just quite a complicated solution. It raises more questions than answers. Whereas if Koulibaly comes in it's simple, he's your defensive rock and you then pick the best partner for him from Mustafi, Chambers, Mavropanos or Holding.

But we all know that's basically not gonna happen. It seems like Sven really believes in the potential of Soyuncu so we'll have to go along with that. He's a very exciting player indeed, but it's not a quick or simple solution. As for Sokratis, I still have no idea if he's actually better than Mustafi or not. I'll leave that for people with more knowledge of him.

For what it's worth my actual wish list is Oblak, Koulibaly, Koke & Dembele, but that really doesn't matter.

Oblak, Koulibaly/Skrinar, Dembele/Mahrez and Kovacic. If we can get Kovacic and Dembele/Mahrez, top 4 is certain.
