Worryingly extremely poor today.

CM seems a problem area.

Partey - very disappointing first season and failing to adapt.

Xhaka - patchy form. Very poor the first months the season then good for several months but has a costly error in him.

Ceballos - so inconsistent excellent one game, poor the next and in the next plays very good but makes costly mistakes.

What in the name of christ are you smoking? He was spraying the ball all over the pitch and breaking up play all game. Yeah he was garbage in the last 15 mins for sure, they all went to rat sh!t, but Partey was the biggest drop off in that period.

What is happening to this forum?

Think he's was struggling at the end, let's not forget for the past 5 years or whatever it is, he's been playing for a side that just sits back and soaks up pressure and attacking with just their 2 forwards. At an actual big club like Arsenal as a midfielder you're expected to defend, dictate play, makes runs, provide attacking threat, it can be quite demanding especially under a proper manager unlike his 5 years prior.

Yeah, we can't forget that he was mostly injured in the first half of the season, and still struggles for fitness. In addition, as you said, he has to acclimate to the premier league and a different system.

Completely understandable he struggles a bit.

Partey Couldn't stop giving the ball away cheaply throughout the match and at times in very dangerous positions (did you see how pissed Luiz and Arteta were at him?). Partey "shoot on site" mentality is fustrating even more so at just how inaccurate his shots are.

I know this forum have a "not allowed to crticise no matter how bad he is" ban on Partey similar to what there was for Bellerin between his 2nd till his 5th of so season (people are actually allowed to criticise him now on here) and Ramsey post leg break. But I don't play by those fan girl groupies rules.

Called Elpoopy and he scored a screamer five minutes later. From now on, he’s Thomas Pootey until he turns it around.

Exactly.

There is a lot to do at Arsenal. He tires and then makes physical and mental mistakes.

Prior to the 75 minutes he owned the midfield. Not sure what people are watching.

Poor first half.

Good second half

Last 10 minutes were pretty bad. Hope he can improve his fitness and stay more consistent.

I thought he was absolutely immense through the first 70 minutes today. Won so many balls and challenges and was spraying accurate passes everywhere. Our midfield destroyed theirs and he was the biggest reason. Shot selection and execution still poor but otherwise he was outstanding.

But he’s played 90 minutes once since November 1 (and even that was 6 weeks ago) and his lack of fitness showed as the wheels kind of came off during the late Sp**s push. Needs to stay healthy and be able to push through to the ends of matches but other than that I have zero concerns about this player.

Why are people moaning when he was immense for most of the match? In the later stages the whole team became crap, why is he getting singled out?

Not sure. Watched it again and he was competing for man of the match all the way until the 80th minute. Anyone moaning did not watch the match in the middle of the pitch.

For the first 70-odd minutes of the game, Sp**s were just utterly unable to move the ball upfield in possession. Their goal was practically the only time. We absolutely dominated the middle of the field and forced turnover after turnover which were quickly pumped upfield.

Partey was immense, Xhaka was excellent, and the work ESR did tracking the play defensively was exceptional.

True, playing devil's advocate though I don't think people would be so generous to him if they had equalised from the corner they got from him passing it directly out of play

i think he'll be a good (hopefully better than good) player for us, but we won't see the best of him till next season imo.

Was told he was actively trying to gift them a goal in the second half, yet you read on here he was like prime Vieira.

Will have to watch later and judge for myself, varied opinions all round.

Maybe

You're wrong, no?
Rarely do u see a player receive such a variety of reviews as partey currently
It's perfectly understandable though, everyone can see his world class moves and how he improves our transition, but there were definitely a lot of bad passes or lost possessions in the wrong areas over the last few games, stuff you would expect from Xhaka and Ceballos, not him

The English codified the rules of football just as the French perfected wine. We don't often ask an English person to come over to make Bordeaux.
