He's 26 for God's sake!

He will be going into his 27 year old season. It will take us approximately 3 years to rebuild. We will then need to replace him when he reached 30. A winger should be part of the rebuild. Pepe would cost the same and he is 23. If he stays forn3 years and we become a title challenging team we can keep him into his peak years. If not, he actually has resale value.

You add Zaha if that is the piece of the puzzle to complete your team. Or you have a complete squad and you can afford to add that quality of depth. We are in a full scale rebuild. We need to buy in the 21-24 age range for every signing we make.

LB, CB, CM x2, RW. 5 key positions where we need to buy in the correct age range. Buying an older rb like Lala is fine as Bellerin is young. We need to find that young centre back now to develop him alongside holding while keeping Sokratis and Kos.

We need two young energetic, fast, athletic midfielders. We need a devastating winger.

We need to sell Mustafi, Xhaka, Miki and Özil. The following year we invest in another CB, a LB and a wide forward if Nelson doesn't break through. In the third and final year you blow your load on a striker.

Have to agree we need to be buying younger players who are hungry. We need to be getting longevity out of players and if they are attracted away by the big boys after a few years it's easier to get big money for a 25-27 year old than Zaha who would be 30.

We just need to get better. We’re in no position to turn down top players, if we can get top four with him and add again next summer what’s saying we couldn’t compete in 2020/21?

Zaha is a no brainer for 60m + add ons for example. You get a hell of a player for PL with good resale value even if he doesnt go up a level. Also you get a potential star on a wing for a couple of years while you try to develop some of your own players there. Probably the best we can hope for this summer. You cant get more direct player than Zaha.

While I agree with the sentiment, Xhaka and Mustafi were both 23 when we signed them and look how they turned out. Players in that age range are a bit of a risk and I would be worried if we only signed players in the 21-24 age range. I would much rather see a balanced approach, Sokratis for example is experienced, solid and was relatively cheap, you need players like that also.

Do you honestly believe we can lose / sell Mustafi, Xhaka, Miki, Özil, Ramsey & Cech and replace them all with 21-24 year olds?

Forget individual transfer targets but I would expect very similar age profiles as this season.. one 33+ , three 25-30 & two u23. Sure some hit & some missed but it was a good balance.

We cant afford a full rebuild while chasing top four & our local rivals in a big growth phase.

I really can not agree with this sentiment and Zaha is one of the leagues most devastating wingers. Yes, we need younger players in the squad, but not in every position! We need a top class winger, being young is an option rather than a necessity. Hell I'd even consider Ribery! We need to consider now more than we need to consider the future.

Zaha is one of the best wingers in the league. The best five are probably Hazard, DeBruyne, Sane, Sterling and Mahrez/Zaha with honourable mentions to son and Willian. Age is not a factor.

There is nothing to suggest that Pepe is or would be better than Zaha in the league.

Zaha is about to come into his prime years, he has 4 more years at the top. If we’re going to restrict ourselves like that it’s pointless.

Zaha is better than mahrez. Zaha with aub and laca gives us a front 3 to truly rival city and liverpool. Zaha is better than mhky and iwobi combined, zaha is ready made and can hit the ground running in the premiership. Zaha is a direct exciting player who could be on the brink of massively improving his goalscoring. Zaha loves london and doesnt want to move out of london.

60mill we should pay it and get him in or trade iwobi and mhky plus 30mill for zaha. I woukd love wan bassaka but he will command 30mill plus easily and palace are not stupid enough to take mustafi.

If we dont get him Sp**s will, a front 3 of son, kane, zaha will be painfull to watch as that is a high quality front 3.

Zanetti was still running like a horse until he suffered that nasty injury that ended his career at 40.
Ribery was turning Casemiro like pancakes a year ago and Robben, when fit, is still fast.
Messi is 31 and you don't see him slowing down, do you? Ronaldo was sprinting at the WC like a young bloke, so cut the nonsense.

What, other than nearly 30 PL goals/assists in the last 2 seasons for Palace?
He'd have even more if he played with better players, especially assists. Palace players missed a lot of sitters he set up for them.

He’s ready for a big club now. No reason why he can’t score 10-15 goals and get 10-15 assists every season at Arsenal, Sp**s, maybe Chelsea , where he’ll play most weeks.

Can’t see Utd signing him again, don’t think either party will want to try again, City don’t need him and he’s probably not good enough for Liverpool and they aren’t spending massive for him to be a squaddy.

Linked with Dortmund, but it’ll be a new low for Arsenal if they can sanction a big deal for him and we can’t.

Was just thinking this myself in seeing him linked there over the past couple of days or so. I can see United maybe wanting him back since he's proven himself a top player, but after his experience there it's hard to imagine him having any desire to go back.
