It's a shame really.

I used to think that Partizan and Red Star existed on opposite sides of the political spectrum, in terms of their origins. But I've read that both were formed by different sections of the anti-fascist resistance, which is supposedly the premise of their rivalry.

Think that has become obscured now considering the fact that they became embroiled in the messy war in Yugoslavia.

They're a ****ing bunch a blood-thirsty criminals, racists, homophobes and whatnot

Remember when Danny Rose was constantly being hurled racist chants.

Justin Hoyte was also a target of their racist chants.

Remember the "flying drone" match in Belgrade. There were so many racist and genocidal chants during the whole match, that it's quite unbelievable it was never considered by UEFA.

One has to assume what our players will endure when up there.

Nelson needs to play against these guys. Get some U23s with a point to prove in there.
Under 23s with respect to them will not handle the atmosphere. They are use to empty arenas not hostile thugs. Yes certainly bring them but these will be tough games that we need to get through.

Authorities have started to break down on hooligans like Delije and Grobari in recent years with stricter laws and punishment. It's still a problem but no need to portray it as a wild west like it was 10years ago.

Funny you mention the drone incident as it was provoked by the Albanians not the other way around.

My point being, there's no need to portray hooligans as some vicious barbarians that only exist in Serbia. Similar problems can be seen in Croatia (BBB and Torcida were also heavily active in the Balkan wars), Macedonia and even in Albania. The nationalistic idea of Greater Albania is as fasicst in it's nature as is Serbian and it's also greatly influencing the Ultras.

The preparation for the PL weekend's game will be so much shorter than usual it's disgusting.

Usually have:

Tue-sun: 4 days prep
Tue-sat: 3 days
Wed-sun: 3 days
Wed-sat: 2 days

Now we have only 2 days every feckin time:

Thur-sun: 2 days preparation.

Really my idea with sending Bould to away games with the kids is superb. Wenger has all of a sudden been hit by a sickness called Not-so-flying-Dutchman, Bergkamp.
Did you see this? Pretty grim:

And this post has nothing to do with the fact you're Albanian? Keep your biased garbage to yourself. Albanians always act the victims, to the point of actually blaming Serbs for the drone situation. It was YOUR fans who flew a drone bearing a Greater Albania flag into the middle of a football match that caused the scenes so stop trying to paint the Serbs as evil. Albania has its fair share of hooligans and mindless idiots aswell.

Our fans will be fine in Belgrade. Just like our black players are fine in Italy and Spain who I can also dig out links connected to chants and racism for.

Of course it has to do with that, because I know full well what kind of bastards they are.

Are you Mike Cernovich in diguise.

That was a nice pivot .

Riiiight.
And the chants and attacks by the racist thugs toward Albanian players inside the field were carried on by nuns, not hooligans, correct ?

Name me an occasion when Albanian fans hurled racist chants or attacked any foreign fans ? Go.

hi all !!!
I am from Serbia, and big fan of Red Star
First off all, that news u can read, its not related to Red Star at all. Also its from BBC, Guardian etc.
Yes we have a crazy bunch of fans, Stadium will be Arsenal problem, but we will chear for our team, and booing and screaming when Arsenal have the ball, but im sure that will not be racists there. We have loads of black guys in our team, and we love them as our brothers. I wish all of you best luck, and supporters who came to Belgrade lots of happy memories, except the result :D I am certain that will be no problems in Serbia. Maybe if i met someone of you, we drink few beers and friendly hugs.

Also i watch a lot PL, and my favorite club is Livepool. So dont hate me :D

Wish you all the best in EL, and i wish you all the best in the knock out faze from the second place, we will be first ofc :)

Sorry for my bad english. Cheers

You and I both know Serbian - Albanian conflict transcends the frame of sports. It's a political/ideological struggle that has nothing to do with football, hooliganism is just a mean of expressing those frustrations. How Serbians treat Albanians (and vice versa) doesn't reflect the general situation a foreign non-Albanian fan will face when in Serbia. So your notion that all Serbian ultras are racial thugs is inncorrect and driven by your (obvious) hatred towards Serbs.

Not to derail this thread any further I'll just point you to read about the problems Macedonians have with Albanians. They maybe aren't seen on the football pitches but the very essence of it is driven by the same destructive ideas as in the Serbian vs Albanian conflicts.

Our second team should be more than capable of progressing through this group. The German away and Serbian away games are the only potential banana skins I can think of.

What is the famous chants they sing? 'Kill an Albanian' and ' A good Albanian is a dead Albanian'. Do we have to mention the amount of times that UEFA/FIFA has made their NT and clubs play behind closed doors because of the friendly behaviour of their fans?

How gullible are these people trying to make the conflict in this part of the world seem so black and white. Weren't they responsible for the worst atrocities to take place since the end of WW2?

I wish Arsenal fans every bit of luck and a safe journey.

And that example you are asking for. It's a bit hard when sport does not exist in Albania. You never ever participate anywhere. Is this first time in the history of sports there will be an Albanian team in Europe league? Btw how many olympic medals do you have in the history of olympics? Big fat zero. That says a bit of you and sports.

Well if you decided to come out pf your cave more often you'd know thats not the case.

Ye this story would fly if Albanians were the only ones you'd have beef with, but, lets not kid ourselves here.

Hi Serbian guy here, sorry for my bad English first of all.

I have to agree in some point with Albos here about our hooligans. Yes they are very unpredictable and involved in criminal. Normal football fans in Serbia also want from authorities to resolve that problem but it's going hard cause of many factors which I don't want to bother people with it here. Simply it doesn't have nothing with sports and it's sad.

But in general you can expect very nice time in Belgrade, with cheap bear, hospitable people and nice atmosphere in the city before the game. Yes you should avoid hooligan groups but honestly the one who don't want trouble won't get any of that.
For one who will travel to Serbia for the game have a nice time in Belgrade, I'm sure you will love it. After all you can ask your Ireland and Wales neighbors for their experience ;)
