Martin Ødegaard: El Capitanø

Garth Crooks had Martin in his team of the week...

Loved his explanation for including Ødegaard...

"The headline after Saturday's win was 'How Arteta is turning Arsenal into contenders'. My only problem with that statement is I didn't like the way the Arsenal manager went about it against Fulham.

With the final seconds ticking away, and the visitors chasing an equaliser, I was hopping with fury to see Mikel Arteta watch the ball roll off the pitch into the technical area, pick it up and then throw it away as the Fulham player was racing to get it back into play.

Managers should never touch the ball unless they intend to hand it back to the player. Bertie Mee or Arsène Wenger would never have behaved in such a manner - and they have won titles.

As for Ødegaard, it was another fine display by the Arsenal captain"

...it really gets across just how well he played against Fulham to be fair!

It's just Fulham tbh

We already knew last season he could shine against the recently promoted sides, so nothing to get too excited about yet. It was a performance levels below the 5-0 vs Norwich too, his best in an Arsenal shirt in the league.

As a captain is important that he doesn't hide if things get tough, that was the encouraging part.

Sure, but Fulham drew Liverpool at home, drew Wolves away, won Brentford and lost to Arsenal only. You can't really compare that to Norwich at this point, different levels.

Let's not get excited when a player has almost a perfect game which we win by a goal coming from behind.. yeah...

Really worried about his injury, huge drop-off from him to ESR in the 10 and it seems to early to give Fabio the start against United (Fabio should get his first start next Thursday in the EL). Really bad timing...

Did well until he broke down, at some point having him run down until our box constantly was going to cost him
