Do we have a thread for ex players discussion? So that we can discuss Özil, Mustafi, Papa etc

Can’t believe we sold Mustafi thought he’d be here forever, worse signing I’ve ever seen.

He fits right with some of the absolute clowns we’ve had at CB over the years though.

Xhaka on the other hand cost just as much as Mustafi but he’s sooooooo far away from the level of midfielders AFC has had it the past that it is criminal the gets 35 league games a year, year on year, to actively bring us down to midtable.

Xhaka is way better than Mustafi was.

Xhaka is way better than Mustafi was.

Yet he (Mustafi) hasn’t featured much at all (3 starts out of 21 matches) whereas Xhaka starts pretty much week in week out (17 of 21 matches started) and Arsenal are 10th.

Xhaka started 31 of 38 last season. Mustafi started 15. Mustafi has been phased out yet we’ve still been underperforming overall. When you take a step back you see that since Xhaka’s arrival he’s been a mainstay in the side and each and every year we’ve failed to make the CL.

We are all happy Mustafi is gone but the biggest improvements in our fortunes will happen once Xhaka gets jettisoned out of the club.

Bizarre start to this interview about the Bale and Alli situation at Sp**s...

Jim: "Remember that night Adebayor and co spanked you 4-0, on your big Champions League night...anyway what's your view on Gareth and Dele?"

This really made me laugh, 'arry doesn't sound happy
Wtf

Must have been dared to do that or something.

No left back in is concerning. We lost Kola and AMN and no one came in.. Injuries to Cedric/Hector can really **** us up right now considering Tierney’s injury record so far.

Good loan for Willock. He simply doesn't have the quality at this point to play for Arsenal or any top-10 PL team. Newcastle keeps him in the league and gives him an opportunity to start and develop. Hopefully he does well.

Terrible loan for AMN. Turning down Southampton - a quality team playing quality football with a chance at pushing toward Europe - to go to a dogsh!t West Brom team playing a terrible brand of football guaranteed to be blown out most nights on the path to sure relegation is absolutely bonkers. Don't care if he's playing his preferred position at West Brom - it's career **** and nobody will be able to shine for that team.

Good riddance to Mustafi. Nice to see the dead wood getting cleared out.
it's actually a perfect loan for AMN.

The fact that Wenger gave up on him after a season really says it all. We tried offloading him to Inter a couple of times soon after.

That's 32m + wages + whatever it is his contract payoff was. Probably one of our worst ever transfers.

Club should've done more to get a fee for him before the situation got to this point.

We are the masters of our own demise when it comes to that, we should really find a way to get these players to sign on better incentivised contracts so we're not stuck with them if they flop.

Don't remember the post that well anymore, but think it was 190m without getting any fees back in return, with the likes of Özil, Alexis and the others, not even Mustafi included.

The damage was done before Edu and Arteta, so the guys before basically have us down for at least 100m with **** deals and not even mentioning them blocking new players.

It's been sheer horror.
