Bruh Fergie was a Grade I Illuminati Grandmaster, dont let Wele performances under him fool you.

Lingard is **** but atleast he scores bangers.
I have no ****ing idea how they won titles post-Ronaldo, especially in '11. No midfield, aging defenders, mistake-prone De Gea -- the list goes on and on. Welbatross is a great example of the voodoo -- now, in his 'prime,' he doesn't look like he belongs in a EL (or even a few slots below) side, but featured in two that won the league at a canter?

Ferguson had the refs under his thumb, yet, but it was very poor from the rest of the league to let that happen.

League is very weak
Good for England. Rooney was one of the (admittedly many) factors holding them back.
I keep hearing this, Gerrard was the problem, Lampard was the problem, Terry was the problem, Beckham was the problem, Scholes was a problem, Rooney was a problem etc.

It's all nonsense, Rooney is one of the all time great English strikers. In 2004 he was absolutely amazing, 2006 he basically just came back from an injury. In 2010 he was part of an England side which was toothless in attack as a whole and were really negative, in 2012 he managed to score but again was a part of a negative side. In 2014 he scored his first world cup goal in one of the worst England world cup sides ever and in 2016 Hodgson decided to play him deep in midfield in a bizarre midfield and attack. To put them blame solely down to Rooney without looking at each tournament, looking at the team overall and looking at the manager is extremely harsh on a man who's ended up being England's record scorer and a man who's won everything at club level.

Same with Lampard and Gerrard really, too many managers shoehorned both in a flat midfield 4, no defensive midfielder behind, no really idea as to who sat and who attacked. Then Gerrard was often put out wide too because for some reason 4 different manager couldn't understand that 4-4-2 wasn't the only formation in football.

They desperately could use any of those shoe-horned midfielders right about now. Can you imagine Kane, pace out wide (say, Sterling and Alli), playing in front of some combination of Scholes, Gerrard, and/or Lampard?

Feels like for every strength England gains there's a huge gaping weakness.

Back then our midfield and defence was solid but we barely had any decent wingers/strikers and **** goalkeepers.

Now we've got decent keepers and an abundance of wingers and strikers but a **** midfield.

Still don't think we'd be on level with Germany or France even if we injected a Gerrard or Lampard into the current side.

Don't know if our CB's are really up there at the moment either.

Wouldn't need Gerrard or Lamps , maybe of the bench . Carrick and Scholes would be my pick .

It works. I am just waiting until everyone has copied it, then I shall come up with something new.
