Bellerin at this point is 3rd or 4th choice RB. That’s his value. You can’t start asking for £15-£20m for him when as the 8th best team in the Premier League you don’t even consider him good enough to be your 1st or 2nd choice.
Look like from reports if true the price currently set 10m inter didn't want pay it even after loan . I think we'll lower it much more don't think A.Madrid fancy a swap with best RB in La Liga last year

From last summer window, seems like they were holding out for 35m+ to sell him.
At the end we won't holding out Arteta wanted him stay 1 more year. But most reports were from France the deal was loan plus 25m option but didn't matter because the manager forced him to stay. Last season we could have also sold AMN for 20m.

Bellerin should serve as a reminder to most Arsenal fans. Not all young talent will be world class. Or even very good. As a top level footballer his ability is average at best. Another player we've tried to develop at the expense of the the club.

That's a great deal for all parties, hope it gets done....he's not as good as he used to be, could still be useful in a back 3/5, but we don't play that anymore, so selling him is the right thing to do.

Been a bit harsh on Bellerin, is a good Arsenal man...hope he gets the move to a team like PSG.

Edit...oh ffs, that's from last summer

Should learn when we sell plsyers that can be replaced when thier value is good i think we learning some of that with Iwobi and willock but still long way to go. We can't be unsure it's not like we selling a key member like Kane

It's funny they frustrated and nobody want them wtf we can do? I'm willing to take financial loses just so they can finally go.

By the way bellerin asked to leave early in window and nobody came close of what we want
Exactly.

- Losing a player for a low fee-

That is better than what we have historically done.

Let players go for free.
PAY PLAYERS OFF.

Take a moment and think about that. We wont sell players for cheap, but we will use our own money to get rid of them. We spend money to get rid of players rather than sell them to make money. The club is useless.

They should have taken the 15m or whatever was being offered for AMN too especially as he’s not playing and Arteta is not a fan of him.

That would have been 40m for both Bellerin and AMN.

If Niles didn't want to play as a wingback anymore, keeping him that summer was so pointless.

Tbf he has repeated he is willing to play there when asked, but he put in a shocker at LWB last season and we haven't seen him in a competitive match for Arsenal since.

Context is King here though. I don't think you can use Bellerin as a case study for how "developing young players is bad" or "we should have sold for £20m" or whatever.

Bellerin WAS genuinely exciting as a young talent. Same as Wilshere and Michael Owen (obviously to differing degrees). The issue has been that injuries have reduced his explosive pace and he hasn't pushed the rest of his game on. The net result is that he's average not brilliant. But that's down to luck.

If you are looking for rules and sayings for the club to stick to then try -

"Sell your underperforming players first"

Or

"Only sell younger players when you've established how good they will be or you've signed someone better"

It must be Niles, he only wants to be a CM now I think...it's why he picked West Brom over Southampton when he was going on loan, cause they promised him midfield minutes.

If it is Arteta though, then he is an idiot for not playing him in that role...Niles and Tierney should be our starting wingbacks for the next decade.

Do you know what would have been even more pointless? Selling AMN, Bellerin or Willock then reinvesting whatever we sold them for on a Raya, Ramsdale or Willian.

Under this current management, we’re losing either way.

Yeah we are so bad at selling at the right time. Every single one of the players people complain is hard to shift now could have been sold for decent to good fees at the right time when there was interest. It's one thing to choose to keep if they see them as vital players in the team(which is the case with Xhaka I guess), but when you refuse to sell only to barely give minutes to the player after it's beyond stupid.

Sell All The Youngsters
Bellerin epitomises perfectly what is wrong with Arsenal. As an institution, we can't cope with reality we're a midtable club now. We try to act as a big CL powerhouse on the transfer market, valuing players like they're some world beaters when in reality we should be selling everyone who failed to keep us amongst the European and domestic elite.

He didn't want to play there, but he would have done it for Arsenal there's a nuance to it.

The correct move was to sell him and just buy a Taveres level player who specialises there, it's poor squad planning.
