As dumb as Arteta is, I don't see this having anything to do with Saliba. This guy is 5'9, 3 inches shorter than Ben White. You would have to be suicidal to play him as a CB regularly in the PL. The only thing I can see him being signed for is utility cover instead of say Zinchenko or to play on the left side of a 3 like Tierney was doing early on in Arteta's tenure.

Red card liability? He averages 1.3 red cards over a full 38 game season. He has 2 red cards in total, 1 of which was unlucky due to the first yellow card (against City). Wouldn't exactly call that a liability.
