Lots of positives today, but the main ones;

Sanchez phenomenal, and Xhaka/Wilshere worked better than ever. We controlled the game and could've scored more.

The big **** off glaring weakness - we can't stop conceding. 25 in 20 games now, that's really really poor. 15 conceded in 10 away games. You simply won't (and we haven't) pick up wins away if you're conceding 1-2 goals every time.

It's also getting to the point where Bellerin may need a game or two on the bench.
Yes seriously worrying about the defending anytime we under pressure we end up conceding there something wrong with our system or just our defense players are s**t

I agree, Wilshere and Xhaka were excellent. Palace boys couldn't get near them, great one touch passing, clean and accurate.

Bellerin in the last 15 minutes lost his head defensively. It might've been fatigue, but **** me, he was giving Zaha all the time and space he needed. Luckily for us Zaha is an overrated punk who failed to contribute more than one good cross, as usual.

Good win and a decent performance overall. We should never have let them back into the game though and after the goal and in the last ten minutes we looked so open. Bellerin had a mare second half.

However we should be happy. Palace were without defeat in eight and especially first half we played some good stuff.

Wasn't he the one who jumped against Zaha and turned him mid air so he cocked up the easy header. Credit's due where credit's due

Only decent thing he did all game. Misplaced three of his passes straight back to CP in our own half in the first half for them to start counters, mispositioning allowed CP to get in behind into the box just to name a few. Irregardless of Özil or Laca helping (which he shouldn't need to) they are just plain bad defensive errors.

Laca had a good game overall the issue is he didn't produce when we were so dominant in the first half, could argue his shot led to a goal. Özil's been on good form recently but had a stinker today.

The right hand side was awful defensively. Both Lacazette and Özil refused to help out.
Laca was very good tracking back. The biggest problem was when he went off and Alexis went up top. The right hand side was wide open as perhaps it was assumed one of the extra midfielders would cover that spot. I don’t believe it’s a player thing. Our system, whatever that is, doesn’t teach it well. We drill a “pass and move” culture, but not enough defending or shooting, for that matter. At least it seems like that from the outside looking in.

How are you meant to produce when he doesn't get the right service from his team-mates? He created one chance out of nothing on his own, assisted two and then gets his usual substitution. Agreed Özil had a stinker in front of goal, he should have scored both chances though it was a good save by Speroni at the same time for the first one.

Lot of positives and a very good attacking performance. Should've scored five or six. If we keep on playing like tonight, we get those games as well.

However I still have to moan a bit. Defensively we still look very vulnerable especially in situations where the opponent can get past our midfield press which will occasionally happen even in games we dominate. Some tend to see nearly all the goals we concede as individual errors but there are structural problems at the back as well. Marking inside our own box is not at the required level. The mistakes we make lead to goals way too often due to the fact that our defense recovers poorly as a unit once we suddenly lose the ball in dangerous areas. Our back four/five lose shape and start doing their individualistic gung ho acrobatics way too easily. 25 goals conceded in 20 games is not bad luck or just brain farts by individual players.

Lacazette need to get into more good positions. We were destroying Palace in the first half yet Lacazette struggled to find him self in dangerous positions.

Wenger is satisfied with our performance but rues our failure to convert chances. Sky are yapping about the failure of the whole team to celebrate with Alexis-points to a dressing room split apparently.
Henry states he would take any money for Özil and Alexis in January rather than let both go for free in the summer. Souness says we have to prioritise keeping them to get top 4 as the money from that will be more than their transfer fees. Not much chat about the match itself

Bellerin put in two good crosses and Laca was nowhere to be seen. It's a two way thing, the pass/cross has to come but Laca also has to be in the right position to receive it and a lot of the times he doesn't take a gamble or put himself into a good position.

Agree he played well overall and there's no guessing why Wenger keeps taking him off, and of course his shot did result in Mustafi scoring. I'm looking at the period of domination in isolation though and not just this game. We need him to produce during these periods more often. Think he can do it but will he?

Arsenal Quotes

When I arrive at the gates of Heaven the Good Lord will ask "What did you do in your life?"
I will respond "I tried to win football matches."
He will say: "Are you certain that's all?"
"Well, that's the story of my life. It is not easy to win football matches, you know."
