Premier League starts

Mari - 2 starts, none since Aug
Maitland-Niles - 2 starts, last in Nov
Chambers, 2 starts, none since Aug
Kolasinac - 1 start, none since Aug
Balogun - 1 start, none since Aug.

Bar Aubameyang, is it really that much of a gamble?

It's not really about game changers, it's about Partey and Xhaka being out again or Takehiro having fitness issues and Cedric being next in line.

Chambers being let go doesn't free 25m from the wage bill like Auba and leaves us short an option on rb and even cb.

Don't think we will have a huge window next summer, but it is possible to have a solid one. A lot of options for midfield, striker not so much.

The bench striker is going to be intersting to see the profile we're looking at.
Big window depend on CL because it'll be excited to buy good quality players without CL even if we qualify to EL we'll still get good players but have to be smart with spending.

As i said earlier this club made too many mistakes regarding contracts we losing so many for free. Now our squad is younger hopefully we don't be stupid.

All these players you mention were going no matter what in January i think we only disappointing because we expected striker no matter what auba situation is

Exactly, so the forward position is our 1 big gamble.
No. Midfield has been our biggest gamble since summer.

I just posted about it here.

Looks like the board don't mind about not getting Champions League, can imagine them even accepting Conference.

Arteta could actually end up with a new deal under Stan

Our January signing is basically the Dubai training camp.

If that recaptures the early/late January and December form then we’re good for now.

What’s with the American defender we signed who is 23 and we planning to loan him out next season as well

The stupid thing is they clearly wanted to buy someone but just failed to do so.

Once you strike out with Vlahovic rather than lurching from target to target, try and work with Auba to finish out the season seems the smarter move.

We’ve cut our nose off to spite our face. We could’ve moved Auba in the summer, cleared the wage bill but still had a better chance at getting top 4.

Reports say we pay Auba wages until the summer. We save on his last year wages

Well that just makes it even worse. We’re paying for a player we no longer have.

Bringing him back in wouldn’t have been a sign of weakness. It’s just common sense.

We can't even be a great villain, just an incompetent one

The club probably think they are the final boss in a game, but in reality we are the first enemy at the beginning that teaches the player the controls.

Tbh I could be wrong. Some report says we agreed to part ways with no money involved others say we pay him rest of the season. Either way people bigging up the wage saved and clearing the squad never mentioned any of this when the window opened. Let’s clear the squad and target the summer transfer. It’s basically a failed transfer window people trying to find anything positive to latch on

Nope. We need committment from everyone. No more Prima Donnas (Özil). It sends the wrong message to the younger ones if we let certain things slide. We need that discipline and focus from everyone and Aubameyang just doesn't have that at this time. Move him on and continue the rebuild.

Let’s not forget why he was banned though. A CL winning manager recently brought back his underperforming star striker after doing something worse than Auba.

Also the key point is that we’re still paying him to not play for us. That’s beyond poor.

Doesn't matter what that CL winning manager did. Edu & Arteta have already spoken about changing the culture of the club from top to bottom. We have a young squad so need them to show that comittment and determination on and off the pitch, with no distractions, to get us back to where we need to be.

Yeah we've really sent the message loud and clear - 8th placed Arsenal won't stand for any Prima Donna's, and if you cross Arteta the club will pay most of your wage to get you a move to sunny spain, to play in the Nou Camp alongside guys like Frenkie De Jong, Gavi, Pedri, Torres, etc. Oh and now he has a crack at European football again.
Well done Arteta, and Edu, that'll teach these players to fall into line and do as Arteta says. :clown:

I'm not sure if we can pick anyone up on loans that window used to run after the transfer window closed I'm not sure if it still works that way, That looks like the only way we might get someone in before the summer.

A good ball by Dixon, finding Smith for Thomas, charging through the midfield... It's up for grabs now! Thomas! Right at the end!

What an unbelievable climax to the League season"
