Give me a midfielder ASAP... Lokonga is clearly not at the level required. A lot of flaws today. We were lucky Villa is so bad attacking and didn't explode his very poor defensive awareness and positioning.

Good on him is He was good in the first half distributing the ball, much better than Elneny. But hide himself the whole second time and didn't do anything of that distribution. So much basics wrong with him, like watching around and your back for runnings movements and not pressing, closing the man he needed to. Very deep and close to our CBs.

Imo we def need dm who can also play 8 when needed (I think most can) but I have no idea who we should go for. We have a really good team that’s riding high and seem to be strong mentally and our midfield could be our downfall. Dm is so important and our main guy is injured way too much and even when fit takes a long time to get up to speed then gets hurt again

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Douglas Luiz for 10-15m is as good as a deal we can get without spending over 30-40m on a long term replacement.

Luiz can be a long term squad player. Elneny leaves next summer we have Luiz, Partey and a big new signing next summer.

We cannot rely on a young Brazilian kid. We need a solid, boring stop gap if we aren't going big. Tried and tested in the league.

Luiz can be like Sp**s getting Hoejberg or whatever he's called. Cost 15m. Does a job. Won't be the difference maker in games but means you don't have to rely on youth or 5th choices.
